This is another poem dedicated to K.C. Whitestar, who drew me a picture (titled Kurama...No...) based on my fanfic, Dreams of Despair. If you read it and see the picture, you'll understand this better. (You can see the pic on under the name KC Whitestar) The poem doesn't really relate to the story as much as it does the picture. It's in Youko Kurama's POV, and he's seeing Hiei backing away in fear of him. Please review and tell me what you think!!

Why do you run?
Please, don't be frightened.
On second thought,
It's no wonder you run from me,
The treacherous youko that I am.
I am not one to be trusted
Nor am I one to befriend.
I cause others pain,
Grief,
Even my friends are my enemies.
No one can come near me.
I am a monster,
Everyone who I've ever cared for has gotten hurt. My human mother.
My old partner.
And now you,
My best friend.
I see the fear in your eyes as I approach,
And I know.
I am destined to be alone.
