Chapter 4: What's The Truth?
After school was over, Anzu walked to the park. She was going to meet Yugi there.
'What does Yugi want me to talk about?' Anzu thought as she walked in the park. There she saw Yugi sitting on a bench. She walked at him.
"Hey, Yugi!" Anzu said.
"Hey, Anzu." Yugi replied and offered her to sit with him. They went quiet for a moment until Anzu began to speak.
"So... What do you want me to talk about?" Yugi flushed alittle.
"Oh, yeah... Talk... Well... You see... I as wondering.." Yugi said.
"Yes?"
"Well, I don't know it for sure... But, don't get mad or something, are you and Francios... Dating?" Yugi managed to get out. Anzu blushed.
"I... Well..." Anzu said and looked at Yugi. He was looking straight at her, expecting her to answer. Anzu sighed.
"To tell you the truth Yugi... I don't know..."
Yugi looked confused. "You don't know? What do you mean?"
"I mean, Francois is nice and stuff... But I don't know if we are dating..."
"But what do you think?" Yugi asked wich made Anzu looked at him.
"I... I don't think so... But he does sweet things wich makes me blush." This made Yugi alittle mad. But he was also happy with the fact that they weren't dating.
"So you are not dating?" Yugi asked with a little smile on his face.
"No... No we are not dating. But... why do you want to know?" Yugi began to blush.
"I... I was just curious. I mean... You are a lot with him, and I guess I was alittle concerned and stuff...."
"You were? Oh, Yugi! That's so sweet of you!" Anzu said and gave Yugi a hug. He hugged her back. "But don't worry, we are not dating!" Anzu said smiling.
"I'm glad...." Yugi said soft.
"Well," Anzu said while standing up. "I guess we should head home. We have a tons of homework!" Yugi also stood up.
"Yeah, you're right! Should I bring you home?" Yugi offered.
Anzu gave him a smile. "Thank you Yugi. That's very sweet of you." Yugi blushed.
"No problem." Yugi said and they started walking.
While they were on their way, someone came running at them.
"Yugi! Anzu!"
"Ryou? What's wrong?" Yugi asked.
"Yeah, what's the hurry?" Anzu asked also. Ryou was all out of breath.
"Jou... Jounoochi... In a alley... Hurt..." Was all Ryou could say.
"What? Is Jou hurt? Where is he? Wich alley?" Yugi asked.
"F-Follow me!" Ryou said and started running. Anzu and Yugi looked at each other and got after him.
Then, Ryou stopped by a alley. Yugi and Anzu quickly came after.
"Jounoochi!" Anzu said. "Jounoochi!" Yugi said also.
Jounoochi was lying on the ground with his hands on his stomach. Yugi, Ryou and Anzu came closer to him. Anzu kneeled down.
"Jou? Jou! Who did this?"
"There were... 3 guys.... Couldn't escape..." Jou said weak.
"Jou! Hang in there! Ryou! Call a ambulance, quick!" Yugi said.
"Yes, right away!" Ryou said and ran out of the alley.
"Poor Jou... There were 3 of them... That's so unfair!" Anzu said while looking at Jou.
"I know... We'll have to wait for the ambulance. Ryou is calling one." Yugi said and kneeled down on the other side.
"Good." Was all Anzu good reply.
And while Yugi and Anzu were waiting for a ambulace, a shadow appears.
"Those stupid Americans.... That's one down, now only 3 to go...." The shadow said and dissapeared again.
Ryou came back. "I called the ambulance. They getting here right away!"
Anzu and Yugi nodded. A moment later, 2 men came running in the alley. They saw the wounded Jou, and they putted him right on the stretcher.
"Can we go with him?" Yugi asked at one of the man.
"I don't know if that's such a good idea kid...." The man said.
"Please... Please sir, you would do us a pleasure if you do..." Anzu said, gaving sad eyes.
"Oh... alright! Come on." The tree kids gave a smile. "Thank you sir." They said and climed in the ambulance.
~~~ In the hospital ~~~
"Ugh... Where am I..?" Jou said while he opened his eyes slowly.
"Your in the hospital, Jou." Yugi said, relieved to see his friend awake.
"Yes, you where attacked by 3 man." Ryou said.
"Yeah, who where those guys?" Anzu asked.
"I remember again! Yeah, those 3 guys! I don't know who those guys were, but they had a funny accent!" Jou said, sitting up.
"A funny accent? What kind of accent, Jou?" Ryou asked.
"Yeah.. It was... No, wait! Quiet... I know it.... Oh, yeah! It was that darn French."
"French?" Yugi, Ryou and Anzu said at the same time.
"Yeah, they said somethin' like: 'Ies dis one of the guys the boss said about?'" Jou said, putting up a face.
"French.... Right.." Yugi said soft.
"Yeah! And then, they trew me in a alley, and started hittin' me! Well, I could have easily won, if my hand wasn't bruised!"
"Your hand isn't bruised, Jou! Just say it! There we're just too many to handle." Anzu said.
Jou looked away. "Well... Maybe..."
"You were lucky, Jou. If they went on, you could have lie in a coma." Ryou said.
"Yeah... Ya right... Thanks guys, for finding me." Jou said and began laughing. Ryou and Anzu did too, but Yugi just remained quiet.
"What's wrong, Yugi?" Anzu asked. " Why are you so quiet?"
Yugi looked up. "Oh, It's nothing Anzu... I'll just gonna go get some fresh air. See you later." And with that, Yugi went outside.
'What's wrong with Yugi? Why is he acting a little strange now?' Anzu thought while watching him go.
Outside, Yugi was walking and thinking of what had happened. 'French guys? Why would they go after Jou? And what did they boss want? This is not good.... Ther said 'One of the guys'... So he's also after us. Or maybe Anzu! No! I can't let them hurt Anzu!' Yugi thought and went back inside the hospital.
