Oh I know what you're thinking, it's some Lion King with an extra character, whoopie (not). But...you're right! So if you don't like that sort of thing then don't bother to read this. But before you go, I will not change the story line so that Kiani and Simba are together instead of Nala and Simba I will not be changing the story in any way. I will have Kiani respond to the events of the movie and perhaps add some things that didn't happen but will not effect the story. With that said....enjoy!

Please note: I do not own the Lion King or any of it's characters those are the sole property of the Disney Company. I only own Kiani and my Lion King obsessed brain. Thank you.

Kiani, the newest lioness to be born, looked out on the Pride lands. Her birth was almost unnoticed. With the birth of the newest succession to the throne being born only three days previously, the birth of just a common lioness was not noticed by much of the pride. Kiani would be raised with the new baby boy lion but she would not hold the throne unless he chose her as his mate.

Kiani struggled to her still-uncertain feet. Her mother watched her stumble off onto the face of Pride rock. She stood and followed the unsure cub. Kiani made her way to where baby Simba, Mufasa's boy, lay with his mother Sirabi. Kiani's mother, Nuli, lay down next to Sirabi as Kiani and Simba batted at each other playfully. Sirabi's eyes were heavy with sleep and Nuli nestled in beside her. Another lioness came running to Sirabi.

"Sirabi, another cub has been born!" The lioness cooed. Sirabi raised her head.

"Oh?" Sirabi purred.

"A lioness, Rafiki has named her Nala."

Simba raised his furry head to look at the lioness; he turned his head to look at Sirabi. Sirabi stood.

"Will you watch Simba for me?" Sirabi mewed. Nuli nodded and took Simba and Kiani by the scruff of their necks and began to bathe them.

As the sun sank in the sky Sirabi came back into view, a small cub in her mouth. She set the cub down and took her place once more. Sirabi purred as she gave the new cub a bathe.

"Sirabi," Nuli purred, "Let me take that cub." Sirabi was all too happy to oblige and give Nuli the newly-born cub. Simba and Kiani were curious to sniff the new arrival. Kiani batted at Simba as the two took turns examining the cub.

The sun sunk behind Pride Rock and Nuli gathered Kiani by the scruff of her neck and wandered back to their nest at the far side of Pride Rock.

I know, I know. It was short, but my brain is full of ideas (now that's something new) and I promise to update!
