Chapter 14: Truth and pain.
Anzu came home, and right after she closed the door, she ran upstairs. He parents weren't home, so they couldn't bother her right now.
Anzu went to her room, and plopped down on her bed, crying. (A/N: 'Plopped on her bed?' hehhehe..) Warm, fresh tears went down her cheek.
'What happened? Why did Yami kiss me? I don't understand! And after that, he just ran off... I saw he was sorry.. I wanted to talk with him... But he didn't.' Anzu thought as she dug her head deeper in her pillow. 'How am I ever going to look at him? It's all so confusing!' Anzu just cried and cried untill Anzu heard a knock on her front door.
'Just my luck... Or wait! Maybe it's Yami! I hope it is!' Anzu thought as she dried her tears and went downstairs. She opend the door, but there was nobody. 'Just some kids playing a prank...' She thought, and just when she was about to close the door, she saw something white lying on the ground. She picked it up, and she saw it was somekind of note. He opend it, and started reading it. Her eyes grew wide while she was reading it. This is what it was saying:
If you wanna make sure your friends wont be in danger, then we suppose that you get outta here...'Cause when you don't, we are just gonna continue to hurt your little friends...You don't want that, don't you...Anzu Mazaki! Go away, if the lives of your friends are important to you...
Anzu's eyes grew in shock. 'No! I-I can't let my friends go hurt! This is my fault...' She thought. She had to talk to someone! But, wouldn't they be in danger? But, what did she has to do? Just then, someone knocked on the door. Anzu opened it quickly to see there Francios.
"Anzu? Can I go inside? I have somethink important to tell yous." --- At Jou's apartement ---
"Ya're hit pretty bad, Yami." Jou said as he handed a glass of water.
"It's not so bad.... But I had no other choice to send those guys to the shadow realm..."
"Yeah, well, you should'nt have..." Yugi said. He was sitting on the couch next to Yami with his arms crossed.
"I dink he didn't had a choice, Yug." Jou said.
"He's right Yugi... What else was I supposed to do? Let them beat me up?"
'Yeah, maybe they should!" Yugi snapped. He was obviously still mad at Yami for the You-know-what-thing. Jou was taken aback by this.
"Wow! Calm down, Yug! Did I just missed somethin'?"Jou asked with his eyes wide.
"Yeah, you missed that fact that Yami just KISSED Anzu!" Yugi said angry.
"Yugi!" Yami said, shame, anger and fear in is eyes. (A/N: Wow, all three at the time?)
"Wha? Did I just heard correct? Yami kissed Anzu? Anzu Mazaki?" Jou said, full of surprise.
"Yes, you sure did, Jou." Yugi said, not taking his angry eyes of Yami.
"Yugi! I told you, I'm sorry! I didn't meant to kiss her!" Yami said.
"Oh, yeah? Then why did you?"
"I...I don't know... It just happened..." Yami said, now looking at the ground.
"I'll just leave ya two alone..." Jou said walking upstairs.
Yami and Yugi remained quiet for a while.
"So why did you?" Yugi asked.
Yami was still looking at the ground. "I-I don't know... I.. I just-" But he was cut of.
"Do you love her?" Yugi asked straight to the point.
"What?" Yami looked stunned. Yugi asked him the same question before Bakura showed up. Yami then didn't had a answer, but does he have now?
"You heard me. I said, do you love her?"
"Yugi..." Yami whispered.
--- Anzu's home ---
"Wh-what? Your leaving already?" Anzu said, in shock. Francios came that he had to leave tomorrow to Paris.
"I'm afraid so, my dear Anzu... I wish I could stay longer..."
"I-I wish you could too..." Anzu said, while a tear rolled over her face. (A/N: What?! She's crying over this guy?) Francios wiped it away with his finger.
"Don't cry, my dear Anzu. Maybe..." Francios began, but stopped.
Anzu looked up. "Maybe, what?"
"Maybe you could come with me! Then, we would be forever together!"
Anzu looked shocked. Leaving? Leaving Domino? Leaving... Her friends? Anzu tightend her grip on the note that she still was holding.
"Well? What do you think?" Francios asked.
"Francios.." Anzu began. "It sound wonderfull. Seeing one of the most romantic city's off all.... But... I can't leave everything behind. My friends..."
"You friends would understand you. Tell them, and then go with me. Come with me, dear Anzu..." Anzu stood up, walking to her window, looking at the note again.
"Francios..." Anzu whispered.
--- At Jou's apartement ---
"Well?" Yugi asked, waiting for Yami to answer.
"Anzu is a great friend, and I care about her a lot. Just like the others." Yami said.
"That's not the question, Yami! Answer me! You are in love, aren't you? You are in love with the girl I love since I knew her!"
"Yugi, I understand that you're mad, but I... I do love her...." Yami said, almost whispering.
"I knew it... Why... Why wouldn't you tell me sooner Yami? Then, I wouldn't be so mad..." Yugi said, in a sad tone looking at the ground.
"I'm sorry Yugi. But, I always saw Anzu as a friend, and nothing more... I never had these feelings... And I never knew what love meant."
"'Cause you never had these feelings in ancient egypt, right?" Yugi said.
"That's right.."
"But why kiss her behind my back?" Yugi asked
"I didn't meant to kiss her, Yugi. I was comforting her, and I.... I got carried away."
"Carried away, behind my back..." Yugi said.
"I'm sorry Yugi...."
"Yeah, but I'm sorry too." Yugi said, making Yami to look at him in surprise. "I shouldn't become mad at you. And yelling at you. I now know that I don't stand a chance against you..."
"Yugi, that's not true! You are having much more chance to her than me! You know her longer!"
Yugi laughed. "Yeah, you got that right!" Yami laughed also.
"Aibou..."
"Mou hitori no boku..." (A/N: Did I spelled that right? Uh oh...)
"But what about Francios, ya guys?" Jou's voice came from the hallway.
"Jou! Where you listening to our conversation?" Yugi said.
"Nah, just the 'make-up' thing. And I was glad to hear dat!" Jou said with a smile.
"But Jou is right, Yugi... What about Francios?" Yami said to his Aibou.
"You got a point there, Jou... Wait! Isn't he leaving soon?"
"Yeah, I dink so... I know! Let's call Anzu! She know's for sure!" Jou said and picked up the phone and dailed her number.
(A/N: Anzu is this when she speaks: (blablabla) And Jou's just "Bla blabla" )
"He ringin'..." Jou said just when someone picked up her phone.
(Hello?)
"Hey, Anzu! It's Jou! How's it goin'?"
(Oh, Jou! It's so good to hear your voice!)
"Errr.. Yeah, it's also good to hear ya voice, Anzu.."
(Jou, are Yugi and Yami with you?)
Jou looked at Yami and Yugi. "Yah, they are here. Why?"
(Could you please come to my house now? It's very important.)
"Is Francios there too?"
(Yeah, why?)
"Nothin'... We'll be right at ya!"
(Ok, thanks a lot Jou!) Anzu said and hung up. Jou did the same.
"Well, looks like were going to Anzu's home. She's got somethin' to tell us."
