Tempt Me Not

"Hey," Buffy smiled softly. "How are you this morning?"
"Doing fine, love. Last night... was wonderful. It's been a long time, you know."
"Same here," she sighed. "Why can't all mornings start like this?"
"They can. If you want them too, I mean." Spike stroked the blonde's hair delicately.
"Do you want to stay?" she asked.
"What?"
"It's a simple question."
"Of course I do, Buffy! I could hold you forever and I'd be content. Even if I had a stake through my heart."
"Tempt not a desperate woman," she laughed as she poked his chest playfully with her finger.
