Chapter Six: A Little Memory
After dinner, Sesshomaru was sitting in his study and was reading through a complicated math equation that he was supposed to solve for his teacher tomorrow, but his mind wonders elsewhere.
That girl, Kagome...who is she? Why does she seem so familiar? Have I met her before? Why does she seem so familiar?
Sesshomaru thought as he flipped through the equation once more.
Her name is Kagome, why does that name sound so familiar to me?
Sesshomaru finally gave up on the problem and leaned back on his seat.
"Kagome..." Suddenly his eyes widened and he sat up. "Could she be? Could she be the one that I am looking for?"
Flashback---
It was a sunny, bright, happy afternoon, but the boy who was walking through the field wasn't feeling that way. He was only ten, with his newly developed fangs and claws, he cut down many trees through his anger...he hated this world – the world that used to be perfect. He remembered a time when his parents only cared for him, that was so long ago. For the past 8 years, he was always in his brother's shadow, since the moment he was born, he lost his father's love and...well...everything. He tried so hard to regain what was meant to be his, but to no avail.
"I hate this world, I hate Inuyasha, why did he have to be born anyways?" Though the ten-year old Sesshomaru out loud, "besides, he's only a half demon, why would father favor him over me anyways?"
Sesshomaru sat "gracefully" onto the ground, tried from all the tree – chopping that he was doing early. Then, a quiet voice disturbed his thoughts...
"Are you okay? You don't look too well..."
Sesshomaru looked up, it was a girl, a girl with long raven hair and big brown eyes. She seems to be only 6 years old, but to no matter, she was human, and he hates humans.
"What do you want? Why do you care? I hate the likes of you, now leave me alone or I might kill you!" Sesshomaru said while flexing his claws, but the girl didn't run away, in fact she came closer and sat down next to him.
"You wouldn't kill me, you have no reason...right?" The girl looked so innocent, it reminded him of himself years ago.
"You're human, that's a good enough reason for me, now run and hide, before I really get mad!"
"I don't think you really hate humans...you're just hurt, I can tell..." The girl looked around her; trees have fallen all over the place. "You really shouldn't take out your anger on the trees, they have done nothing to you."
Sesshomaru was surprise, I mean, there's a little girl 4 years younger than him, and she's giving him a lecture, and what's worse, is that he actually begin to think she's right.
"You don't understand...nobody understands..." Sesshomaru's voice trailed off, leaving utter silence in its place.
The girl looked at him, and took one of his claws in her hands, and said those words, "I'm willing to listen to your story, and maybe talking to someone would make you feel better."
Her voice calmed him, there were no anger left in him, only sadness and despair, Sesshomaru began to tell his story.
" It all started 8 years ago, when my younger brother was born. My parents never care for me anymore; all they ever do was fussing over Inuyasha. I can't take it anymore...I want them to care for me as they did before...am I not good enough comparing to him?"
" No! You should never think that way!" The girl suddenly stood, " You must always believe in yourself. Remember, he is still your brother, there's no need to be jealous, you're a very nice person, I can tell, I'll always like you better than your brother..." The girl turned bright red and let go of his claw.
Sesshomaru was stunned but his mouth curved into a smile. "Thank you, that made me feel much better." He stood up as well, they both looked at the sky.
" Oh, I almost forgot, I have to get home before dark," The girl turned to run, but Sesshomaru grabbed her arm. "Wha..."
" Please, tell me your name, I want to repay you in the future."
" That's okay, I just want us to be friends. It name is Kagome by the way, bye." Kagome ran home, leaving Sesshomaru there standing in the field.
Kagome, I look forward to see you again
End of Flashback---
Sesshomaru snapped out of the little flashback, and looked dazed as he looked around his study.
" That girl...it's been ten years..." Thought Sesshomaru "Maybe it's time for us to meet again.
Okay, I know, this is an awful chappie.
It's short, I know.
I couldn't help it, there's always homework.
And more homework.
