Running Silently

I do not own LOTR. Darn it all!!!!

Mellon nin means my friend in elvish (Sindarin for all you Tolkien scholars out there!) and the last sentence is what Jesus Christ said as He ascended into heaven.

Running Silently

Does running away from your

Fears make them any less real?

Or does it just make facing them

More difficult for you?

Why then, do we run from the horrors

Of the world, when they should be defeated?

Does being afraid make you any less of a man?

Or does it make you a real person?

Why are tears hidden from those who care,

But only in darkness, and in silence,

Do they flow freely?

Who or what are we truly

Running from?

Running won't help when the fear

Is after us, and the darkness overwhelms us,

And you look around you, and all there is,

Is darkness.

Are you alone, when you're finally tired of running,

From the inevitable?

And when the darkness falls,

Who will be there beside you?

To be your friend,

And to stand by you no matter what

The consequences for them might be?

And will wipe away your tears

And won't ever fault you for them

Or hold them against you?

Mellon nin,

When this world falls,

And all is coming down upon your head.

And the people you love most are gone,

Think of me and wherever I am,

Whether it be on this earth or somewhere else

And I will be with you,

Whether it be in body, spirit or both.

And I will always be there for you.

Even though it seems that you're alone

Just call me

My mellon nin

My friend,

My first and best mellon,

I am with you always

Even unto the end of time.
