Nothing, Nothing at all
It was a warm, late, Halloween night. I don't know how late. All I knew is that my feet hurt, because I'd been walking so long. I was only a few yard from my house when I heard something.
I kept walking, thinking that it was only my imagination. I heard it again, but this time it was louder. I heard the pitter-patter of "its" feet on the side walk behind me. I didn't dare turn around; I didn't want to know what "it" was. I was only a few yards from my driveway.
I felt the warmth of "it's" breath on the back of my neck. I heard the crunch of its feet on my gravel driveway. I moved quicker, so did the thing. I reached my front steps. I heard the creek of my rickety bottom step; however I was on the top of the steps. I could make out the faint outline of something big.
I felt "its breath again. My heart was beating so loudly I thought it would hear me. I wondered to myself if it could smell fear. Everything seemed dark, like the stars had gone out. Only two steps until my door, one step left. I ran.
I flung open the door, and then slammed it shut. After I caught my breath I looked out the window. What I saw was...nothing. The sky seemed brighter, but I was sure something had been there.
I defiantly felt "its" breath; I heard the creek of the step, and the crunch of the footsteps. Yet when I turned around I saw nothing, nothing at all.
