A/N: Inspired by a poem I am analysing in English by Jennifer Orendach and called "He Finally Said, "I Love You"
He Finally Said, "I Love You"
Minerva McGonagall was staring into her beloved's eyes. Seeing his desire for her reflected in his ice blue eyes.
They had been seeing each other for almost a year, ever since the Dark Lord had risen again in fact. They needed each other for support in the dark times that had passed and were still to come.
As Minerva continued to stare into his eyes though she felt and urge to repeat the words she had only ever bestowed upon him once, 'I love you'.
Instead she moved her hand to his face, cupping his cheek, in an effort to hold those feelings inside of her. She could not say them again, could not show her love, not if she wanted to keep him.
She remembered most vividly the last time she had shared so much with him. He had gently moved his hands away from hers, telling her to leave while avoiding her eyes, she left, afraid he would not wish to speak to her again.
He had however allowed her back but she had not spoken those words again, for fear of rejection once more. She had in fact thought it would be the one and only time one of them would share those feelings of pure love with the other, but it was not to be.
As she stared into his eyes his own staring back just as intently. His fingers gently traced her cheek bone, up her face and around her forehead, pushing a few loose strands of her ebony hair back. She breathed in deeply, unsure of what he was thinking or of what he was to do.
Her heart was beating quickly and her mind raced with possibilities as she felt tears well up. He however looked pale, as if he would faint, a man as strong as he.
Expecting the worst, she was overjoyed and immensely impressed when instead of possibly breaking her heart three words were whispered past those pale lips. Three words which represented so much. A leap of faith, trust, commitment and passion.
He said, "I love you."
Tears streamed from both their eyes, slipping down their cheeks as she leaned forward and gently kissed him on the lips. Slipping her arms around his neck as the continued to share, small, gentle kisses that were full of love.
Only when breathing became necessary did she pull back and whisper those words that she had thought would stay hidden forever.
"I love you too."
A/N: So what do you think? Let me know cause it only took me half an hour, not counting the time I thought about it in English ;-)
Oh I am such an idiot, I accidentally posted this in the Hardy Boys section, please tell me someone else has done that
