Dragon's Pain
Escaflowne, Van Dilandau.
Summary: Mixed emotions of love and hate. Those who don't understand the love between two people pass it off as wrong. To keep such a thing hidden is painful and sad. Suicide toys in your thoughts until it becomes a reality. The love between Van and Dilandau is a vision of society's views against homosexuals. Perhaps now you won't hate a human being for where their hearts lay.
-Dedicated to all those who have died from society's torture and to those who still struggle. -.
Chapter 1: Aisu
The painful screech of metal against metal stung through the air, a loud battle cry followed. The two young boys had been drawn into yet another horrid and useless confrontation. Angered amber eyes shot a nasty glare through the giant mecha. In truth they shouldn't have hated each other. Drawn both, by an old feud.
"Finish him!" called a deep voice from the knight, who stood proud and tall on the sidelines. The raven-haired boy gripped the metal until his knuckles turned to an icy white. Could he really kill him? Could he kill just a young soul who stood helplessly before him? 'Please run…' the words shot through his mind until they became a low whisper. The silver haired youth awaited his impending death. His breath was loud as beads of cold sweat trailed down his cheeks. His breathing became slow as the boy's voice reached his ears. "Run!" he snapped quickly. "Why would I ever run from you?"
Van shivered at the sound of his shrill voice. His eyes showed sympathy; perhaps that's what Dilandau needed to convince him. Thus, the cockpit door had opened. In turn so did the other. "Please go!" he gave another pleading cry. Dilandau looked at those eyes, those deep and caring eyes. Never had he seen this side of his enemy. It made his heart skip a beat as he just stared. All time had seemed to freeze for the troubled boy.
His eyes flashed back to normal as he shook it off. How could he attack now? Or give a vile comment? He had to leave, leave now. These feelings were weird and beyond his knowledge. Without a word or warning the red guymelif was gone, leaving a worried van. What would his friends say? They had counted on him killing one of Zaibach's most dangerous weapons…
Dilandau gave a loud cry of pain as his small hands gripped his hair. "Folken-sama will have my head!" he wailed. Out came a shiver as the cold room got to him. For one of Zaibach's most valued people they didn't give him a very nice room. The air was like ice, and it stung with every intake of air. Cupped hands moved to his lips, hot air flowed softly onto his freezing skin before he moved to change out of his blood spattered clothing. Through all of this, Van's image stuck in his mind… but why? Why did this boy haunt him, yet calm his troubled heart? Why…
-There is chapter 1. Yes I know its short but it was just something in my mind that I had to let out. I know Dilandau is really a girl so please no flames about that… In this fic he is a guy however. I do appreciate it if you R&R. Remember this is my first shot at a yaoi escaflowne fic.-
