A/N

It's a longer chapter than usual folks when Angel tries to make sense of my plot bunnies!

It's been a while but I'm hoping I'll have the time and energy to update on a regular basis once again. Have fun guys!

Day Six, Sunday, Lovers Leap, St Treharne

Angel stood on the cliffs at the edge of the harbour, deep in thought.

Who knew Giles could sing?

And what was Buffy doing in St Treharne? Why was Darcy with her and why hadn't she mentioned her presence? Although, Angel conceded, given how much she knew of their past, Darcy might have felt it wiser to keep that information to herself.
No, that didn't fit. Darcy was an outspoken girl. She would have mentioned it and damned the consequences. Which meant that someone must have suggested that she not say anything. Was it Buffy?
No. Buffy probably didn't know that he was there either. Neither would any of her group or his. So who could have told Darcy not to tell anyone?
Wait.
Angel remembered Cordelia and Doyle's reticence in letting him out of the door to seek Darcy. And Cordelia had been the one to see Darcy. Was it possible that she knew? Had she seen Buffy, Willow, Xander, Giles and Darcy enter the pub together? If so, it was possible that she, and probably Doyle, had known that they were here.

And that didn't even begin to cover the fact that Darcy obviously wasn't a vampire because she was in the company of the Slayer and friends. So why had Basil lied to them and told them that she was? What was the cat up to? Could he be mistaken? Had he decided to join his father?

Angel recapped all he knew about the ritual soon to be performed. The bottom line was that Ramiculus needed his blood kin to be present for the ritual to be successful. Everyone except Ramiculus knew that if the ritual was successful then the world would be unable to tolerate the pressures brought to bear on it and would implode. Therefore, whether Basil was evil or not would have no bearing on the situation – the cat wouldn't be willing to throw his life away for someone he'd always detested. So he wouldn't want Darcy to attend the ritual. But if Darcy was insisting on attending in an attempt to stop Ramiculus then wouldn't it be logical for Basil to turn to him with some tall tale about her being a vampire in an attempt to stop her?

His head hurt.

Giles. Who knew the man could sing?
Angel frowned, thinking back to the moments he had spent looking in through the pub window.
He couldn't be sure, but he though Willow might have seen him. Did she know? He wouldn't be surprised, she always was one of the most observant of the group. And she certainly hadn't been paying much attention to Giles and Darcy's singing.
Angel glanced at his watch and was unsurprised by what it told him. The sun would be up in less than half an hour. He had just about enough time to make it back to the hotel. Provided he hurried.
