Chapter 1: Let's Promise
"C'mon Link! Hurry up!" Saria called out to Link. Little Link was running after Saria, "C'mon! Up here! I wanna show you my secret hideout!"
"Okay! I'm coming!" Link shouted back at Saria while climbing the wall vines. By the time they got up the cliff, Link was puffed out. But Saria continued to run and she ran into the entrance of the Lost Woods.
"Saria! We're not allowed in there!" Link shouted out after her. But Saria was already inside the Lost Woods. And without thinking, Link just followed her.
Inside the Lost Woods the trees huddled over Saria and Link. And only a glimpse of sparkling light could be seen through the leaves of the trees.
"Saria! What are we doing here?! We're not supposed to be here!" Link repeated himself.
"Shhh! I know! You have to be quiet about it!" Saria told Link.
"Do you even know where you're going?" Link asked.
"Yes! Now follow me!" Saria said and grabbed Link's hand, Link blushed. And with Saria leading the way, they ran.
They ran and ran and sometimes stopped for a break. Then they came to this area in the forest that Link never knew exisited. Another entrance. To somewhere else.
"My secret place is just through this entrance and then through the maze" Saria told Link.
The two went through maze and then went up the steps. And then, Link saw the most peaceful place he had ever seen.
"Woow..." Link said in amazement, slowly taking steps, "This is a cool hideout!"
"I know!" Link and Saria sat on a stump each.
Link was so amazed by the beautiful place. He looked around the area. Saria smiled.
"Hehe... Link you're so cute!" Saria giggled. Link looked at her confused. Then Saria spoke slowly, "Link... Do you think we'll be friends forever?"
"Of course we will!" Link immediately said, "We'll be the best of friends forever Saria!"
"I hope we will." Saria smiled. She looked away for a few seconds and turned back to Link, "Link... can you do me a favour?"
"Of course! Anything for my best friend!" Link said happily.
"Cool. Well... Can you promise me that in 7 years we will meet up here in the same place and we'll live happily together after?"
"But how will I remember to find you?" Link asked.
"Just remember that in 7 years, come back to Kokori Village, head to the Lost Woods and listen for a sweet melody played by the ocarina."
Saria took out her ocarina.
"The sweet melody goes like this..." Saria put her lips to her ocarina and played her song. Link listened carefully. Then the whole woods was quiet.
"Wow... That was a pretty melody, Saria." Link complimented. Saria smiled. Then she moved closer to Link's face and kissed his lips. Link blushed wildly. Saria blushed too.
"So remember your promise, Link. Come back here, and we can live happily together." Saria reminded him.
"Okay, Saria." Link nodded his head.
