Ginny gasped and sat up. She tried to push her hair out of her face, but it was plastered there by sweat. She could still hear parts of her dream...
"Dear Tom, Today Ron and his friends ignored me. What else is new? Also, that Malfoy boy made fun of me again. You're the only one that really understands me Tom..."
Why was she having these dreams now? She had been Voldemort / Tom Riddle free for almost 13 years. She went to shake Draco awake to tell him, but her hand only met air. She'd also been Draco free for almost 2 weeks now. She covered her eyes with her hands and lay her head back down on the pillow. There he was again! 16b year old Tom Riddle. She could feel every detail, his dark hair and eyes, his heat beat, even his power. It was all there in her head. "What do you want with me!?" Ginny cried out, "Why me? why now?" She smothered he face into the pillow, trying to rid her brain of him. But his image wouldn't leave ...
Long lost word whisper slowly to me
Still can't find what keeps me here
When all this time I've been so hollow inside
Watching me, wanting me, I can feel you pull me down
Fearing you, loving you, I won't let you pull me down
Ginny stopped thrashing around in her bedding. "There's a connection, a connection between him and me somewhere..." She got out of bed. She ran to her drawers and pulled each and every one out, then ransacked them. She threw every piece of clothing she had on the floor and stamped on the. Trying to stamp Tom out of her life. She threw her bedding onto the floor. She could feel Tom's touch, hear his breath, feel his heart.
Hunting you, I can smell you alive,
your heart pounding in my head
She stopped, sweat pouring down her face and her apartment ransacked. Ginny whispered,
"What do you want from me? I'm, I'm just a Weasley. No life, no true happiness..."
Her words faltered and her hand went to the locked that hung around her neck. Draco had given her the locket. In it was a picture of the both of them and a lock of his hair. She opened it, just for old times sake. Staring at the picture, she noticed something different. Draco wasn't there anymore. Tom was. She looked at the hair. Instead of blonde, it was jet black. Tom had moved into her empty space. Trying to fill up the void that Draco had once filled with his love.
"I can't live like this, "she whispered. "You've brought nothing but ill fortune into my life." She unhooked the locket. She went to the coals burning in the fireplace& stoked up the fire. She looked at the locket once more. It was a silver heart, bordered with a snake and a lion in the centre. On the back was engraved, "To Ginny, Love Draco".
With tears silently running down her cheeks, Ginny tossed the heart into the fire. It landed among the coals turning red. Then it started to melt. Ginny was surprised because silver wouldn't melt in a small fireplace fire. The silver ran onto the hearth and pooled. To her surprise, it was a heart. Ginny picked it up and stared at it. She then walked into her bedroom and opened the window wide.
"Neither of you are going to bring me down." She said, and tossed the silver heart into the cool, early morning air.
Wanting me, watching me, I can feel you pull me down
Saving me, Raping me,
Wanting me, watching me, I can feel you pull me down
Fearing you, loving you,
I won't let you pull me down.
