Summary: Gaz is a zombie and can't forget what made her this way.
Very short one-shot inspired by Cranberries' 'Zombie'.
Disclaimer: don't own anything.
They did this to her.
Gaz opened her eyes to face the wall inches from her face and stared at it for at least the best of a couple of hours. Life was so uneventful. Eventually she felt a need to get up from her cold sheets and conduct the bodies' needed activites. Something she hated almost more than life itself. She walked out into the hall and looked down it to his door. It was this every morning, so so quiet. He made noises that kept her awake, scientific explosions that made her want to rip him apart, but now he was gone, it all seemed so childish. In her head she wished it hadn't been like that. She wished it so many times she couldn't count. The child was taken from her that day, the violence replacing it with a sort of.... A silence... it replaced her normal angry self with.... Silence. Talking was an activity for children now.
'Who am I mistaken?' she thought. In her head they are still fighting, fighting each other, until one of them would be dead. But no one won. They both lost and so did she. If Zim had died, it would have been normal, if Dib had died, she could have taken revenge, but they both kept fighting, with their tanks and their bombs and their guns and their hatred for each other, they became shells. Nothing inside but hatred. Their shells cracked and she became a Zombie, droning and moaning inside her head, with no point to her life but to stay and remember. In her head she's still crying.
This is what happens when it goes too far. Carry on long enough and you get a duel between two whose hatred is as limitless as space itself. She once thought that it was a shame they couldn't see how similar they were. Now she thinks it's a shame they ever met. In her head she's a zombie, walking and making actions but nothing actually happens. Who cares about that girl? Who cares that her father hates her, and spends all his time burying himself in his work? Who cares that their mother appeared, broken and weeping for her son? Not her, not anymore, she's just a zombie.
In her head, she still sees them fighting and dying over and over as she goes about her zombie day.
