Random urges happen all the time... And this, this was a random urge. I needed to make a Yu Yu Hakusho fic, so I am. I'm such a freak... I can never help myself... Next thing you know, I'll have Rurouni Kenshin and Hellsing and, and... Everything else under the sun! XD
Disclaimer: I do not own Yu Yu Hakusho, or any of it's characters. I do own Lenna, though, who will be of great importance... -innocent look-
Final Note: Read, review, and enjoy. Feel free to flame, although you will be flamed right back! If you wish to contact me further, AIM is Pyro Squirrely.
Prologue
You can't, Lenna... You just can't...
Don't go through with it. You'll be leaving me forever...
We can't live like this Len... I can't live with you letting yourself down...
I have to leave.
Eyes shot open like slingshots. Sweat dripped down Lenna's face as she sat up. Or at least, that's what she thought. In fact, the young athlete was crying. Lenna was 17 years old, and the star soccer player of her highschool's varsity team. She had long, black hair that, when she wasn't playing soccer, was held in a half-ponytail by a navy blue bow. She lived in an apartment 3 blocks from the soccer fields, where at night she would practice her skills. But, on with the story...
Lenna stepped slowly into her leopard-print slippers and walked out to the kitchen. She opened a cupboard and pulled out a small bottle filled with tablets. She opened it and poured three in her hand. With a short hesitation, the tablets were swallowed, and Lenna proceeded to make a cup of coffee. She had always hid her addiction, ever since he left her. That was in fact when she started. When they were together. He had bought a coffee machine, one thing Lenna had never used. And now, she was addicted. The caffine kept her working on those nights when she couldn't sleep. What most people wonder is what the tablets were for, though. Yes, they are doctor prescribed, for helping her to get over her repeating dreams.
Lenna stopped for a brief moment to think about her dream. Why did she ever consider doing such a thing? What could've driven her to want to slit her wrists? She had it all... The looks, the boyfriend, the scholarships, the grades... It was never to be remembered though, for it was all just a blur as to why she felt so lost that day. And that's just why he left her, because she insisted upon it. And she did. When he left, she was caught in a depressing rage that made her have to. She felt like she had nothing left to live for... And the recollection of when it happened was a horrible scene...
Sirens... Flashing lights... They all were there, but neglected... Ignored by her... She no longer had control over her attention span, though... All that she could hear were the sounds of her own screams, ringing in her ears, filling her with a hot anger. Crimson liquid covered the kitchen floor... The butcher knife was to be stained forever... It lay motionless beside her head... He heard the screams from the downstairs... He ran up to see if it was just her feeling of loss... Or if she had done it... And indeed, she had...
This time, Lenna was sweating for real. She took a glance at the clock as she got her coffee ready. 5:30 AM. Prefect time to get ready for her morning jog. She had a schedule now. After she woke up, if there was time, she would jog to the fields and back. Then she would shower and get ready for school. On the way there she'd stop at the Coffee Shop and pick up a donut or bagel for breakfast. But, this routine was about to change this morning...
End Prologue
