Chapter 1: My Heaven
Jesse's POV
Can ghosts love as humans can?
They must or else what is this I feel?
The way I can't help but smile when you walk into a room. The way your emerald eyes dance when you laugh, the way you see me like no one has ever done before, even when I was alive. The way you are who you are.
It all makes my heart want to beat again.
But it never will.
And we will never be.
We are from different worlds. Of dark and light, of living and dead. You will always be beyond my reach.
Even as you lie here, with the mist rolling over the hills, peaceful in your slumber, you have no idea that I watch over you. If I could take away all the pain of your life, let you be normal, let you forget me I would.
But I would never forget you.
I may spend eternity on this earth but it would always be with your image in my mind.
You are my heaven.
That is why I would never let you join me here, in this limbo. You are life. Nothing should smother your radiance. Nobody should take your beauty, your kindness, and your humour from you.
But someone will have your love. I shall hate him because he can be seen with you, care for you in ways I cannot. Yet I'll love him because he will make you smile.
