And the Past is in the Past

Peyton sighed. Being alone isn't that great. She loved her mother, but she damaged her. She made her bleed inside. Her internal wounds will never heal. Her heart has a black hole. The blonde girl got up and went inside her room. Her web cam was on. She sat on her desk. She pulled out a photo album. Inside were pictures of her and her mother. Her eyes filled with tears. One by one, the tears began to fall. Small water puddles formed on the pictures. All the tears seemed to be inline with her mothers face. She turned the page quickly. She did not want to break down. She did not want all the pain with her mom and step-dad to surface. Her step-dad hits her and her mom ran off. What was she suppose to do?

The school bell rang informing all students that 1st period is about to start. Miss Sawyer made her way through the scurrying kids. Her arms hurt; all the sharp pain was felt. Yep, you guessed it, she cuts herself. Every time her arm shifted, it stung. The sleeve was sliding against the deep self-inflicted wounds. She entered her class. "Ah, Lucas." She thought. Lucas Scott was there, sitting one seat away from hers. His hair, his eyes all infatuated Peyton. Her ongoing lust to be near him was devastating and dangerous. She took her seat.

"Hey Peyton." said Lucas smiling.

"Hey" replied Peyton. She stared at him. She kept staring until he turned around and stared back. Their eyes met causing sparks to erupt on both sides. Her pink lips stayed firm, but every now and then, she would smile. After a while, the teacher caught on, so they had to stop. "God, he is so great." thought Peyton.

First period was over and Peyton was the first out of class. Lucas managed to catch up.

"Peyton... I wanted to know if you could be able to come over my house." said Lucas almost out of breath from running. Lucas waited for a response. Peyton smiled.

"Yeah, I would like that." Peyton smiled like a little girl. They both walked in separate directions. Peyton kept smiling till Brooke showed up.

"Hey!" said Brooke all happy and cheery.

"Hey." replied Peyton in a low tone.

"What's up your butt?" asked Brooke.

"Nothing, just tired." was Peyton's answer.

"Umm...whatever. Anyways, we have practice! C'mon" said Brooke as she grabbed Peyton's arm. "I hate cheerleading!" Peyton was dragged all the way to the gym.. She hated cheerleading, but she had to cheer to keep her social status up. She does everything Brooke does so she can be popular. She does everything, except sex that is.

Cheer practice was over very fast. Peyton was glad. She could now go to lunch. She made hr way towards the café. She knew Nathan would be there, but hey, it was her café too. Snickers by Nathan's gang of friends followed every step she took. Peyton hates attention, but of course, Brooke loves it. Brooke loves having her social status carried by hormone-driven teens. Peyton is shy deep down. She never lets out her true feelings her mother once said "We should always follow the rules". Peyton didn't want to follow the rules. She wanted to break them.
