Interlude

A doe and a fawn stood in a clearing, grazing on the lush green grass. The

clearing was small, surrounded by trees of a forest that bore no name, at least not to

humans. To animals, its name was just a whisper of darkness, of dangerous youkai who wouldn't hesitate to kill and devour an innocent creature. That was why a peaceful moment like this was treasured, among a mother and daughter, no less.

The fawn was young, only a week old at most. She stood close to her mother, afraid of her surroundings, although she had spent her life there, from the moment of her birth.

Her mother, too, was antsy, with more reason to be so than on pure instinct. She bore scars of her battles, where youkai had grabbed at her, tearing her delicate flesh. But she had lived, to give birth to her first offspring.

A rustling was heard from a nearby bush. The doe started, running a few steps, before coming back, herding her daughter away from possible danger. Before they could get away, though, the demon revealed itself.

He had long, silvery hair, and blood-red eyes. The doe paused her anxious fidgeting with her offspring and wondered at this strange beast. Although he looked like a full demon in appearance, he was merely a hanyou, somehow transformed into his youkai form.

That puzzled the doe, and the fawn even more so. She haltingly took a few steps forward, then stopped as the half-demon started towards her. He stopped right in front of her, claws raised, smirking.

"Die, you worthless animal."

If the does could have gasped, she would have, as her daughter's head came off in one clean swipe, spraying blood everywhere. The young deer's headless body tottered a bit, before falling down, limp and lifeless, in a puddle of her own blood. A second later, the carcass was ripped apart by the hanyou's claws, until she was no more than a couple of bloody scraps, to be picked apart tomorrow by carrion birds.

The does watched, terrorized, with rage filling her mind at the slaughter. Instinct, told her to run, but as she watched the pleasure that the demon had from killing her only daughter, rage made her stay, wanting to kill him- and herself.

The demon looked up, covered in sticky blood. He smirked at her, loving the fear and anger in her eyes. He stood up, stalking towards her, saying two words in that hateful voice. The last thing the doe ever heard.

"You're next."

I feel it is necessary to explain what's going on, because no one seems to get it. Inuyasha is in his full demon form, running around and killing deers, etc. It's part of a story I'm writing, but not posting because it's bad. Really bad. And until I make it better, this is all that you'll see of it.

Does's everyone get it? OK, good. Now go review.
