Hi, this is my 2nd fic, and my 1st one is "Kids Next Door meet the Teen Titans!" Please read it, and I hope you like this story too. By the way, this is a fic mostly from Raven's point of view. It is some of her thoughts after Robin's death, which she thinks she caused.
Disclaimer: Yeah, you all probably know that I know nothing at all in the United States and the District of Colombia. But enjoy the story.
I want to feel innocent, it could have happened to anyone, but it had to happen to Robin, my love...
The stretcher was being loaded into the back of the ambulance. Beast Boy, Cyborg, Starfire, and Raven were solemnly mounted on the mainland, watching their dear friend being hauled away.
This isn't fair! We were making arrangements to be wed, we had plans! Why, why must this happen? I feel so sorry, it feels like it is my fault, I mean, we were on the roof, thunder, lightning, and rain pelting upon us, and then, I leaned on him, and he slipped...
Beast Boy, sitting on the ground, sobbing into his knees. Starfire, hiding her tear-streaked hands, bawling. Even Cyborg had tears brimming on the rim of his single human eye.
And me, my tears concealed, my pale face, emotionless as usual. But now the love of my life is being taken away, and I can't even shed a solitary tear. Nor can I project rage towards myself, for being the reason he has passed...
"C'mon, let's go inside before we die of frost... never mind," Beast Boy made knowledgeable decision not to finish his wise-crack. However, Raven simply nodded and slowly made her way back into the tower.
No one will ever fill the gaping hole in my heart. Things like this don't happen to the Teen Titans! This is too horrible to be happening, it must be fake, perhaps a dream. No, I can't deny it. The fact that Robin is gone is true, and I know it...
A knock on Raven's door interrupted her train of thought.
"Raven? Friend Raven, it is I, Starfire. May I perhaps enter your room?" Raven revealed herself slightly to face Starfire.. However, the emotion on her face was not overjoyed, as it was normally. Now there was a mix of worry and mourning on it.
Raven stared into the Tameranian's eyes, trying to hide the depression in her own, "What?" she asked, striving to keep the emotion out of her voice.
"I was just thinking that you may want to converse about Robin's sudden...passing away," Starfire's eyes had the slightest bit of hope in them.
However, the hope was extinguished when Raven monotonously replied, "What is there to talk about?" And with that, Raven closed the door and slid down the wall. On the other side was a crushed young woman, who just sighed heavily and disappeared down the corridor.
Why the hell does she care what I think? She gets enough attention already. Why does...
Another knock on her door resulted in Raven beginning to feel slightly irritated.
She opened the door and glared at the green figure standing before her, "What do you want?" she asked forcefully.
"Well, you seem pretty upset, and I was-"
"Okay, you know what, I am upset!" A light bulb shattered above Beast Boy's head, "And you know what else? I want everyone to stop bugging me!" One of the windows in the rec room cracked, "So go away!" Four more windows burst.
Beast Boy, now panic-stricken, hurried away. Before slamming the door, Raven hollered, "And I don't want anyone else bugging me!" Raven lay down on her bed and buried her face in her ebony pillow.
How am I supposed to live without you?
In the dusk, there was a hushed man's voice...
Farewell, my love.
