This is one of those fics you write early in the morning and then post it when anything's a good idea... Like freezing a banana. Off subject. I think it's sort of pointless, but I feel the need to post something...

Basically, Merry's in love with Pippin etc, and wonders what would happen if they told people.

M/P, as always. I love those two. Oh, and I own... sweet FA.

I wonder

I wonder what would happen, if they found out.

I think my father would be disapointed. Mostly in me, but also in himself. After all, who else is there to blame? He's taught me, since I was a child, how to act. So any failures of mine would be because of him. That's how he's always seen things.

My mother would be... upset. No grandchildren to cuddle and fuss over. No daughter-in-law to spoil, and talk to and all the other pointless things I've watched my mother and aunts do in the summer. Like make jam. Completely pointless.

Frodo... I don't really know how he'd feel. He's never seemed annoyed with either of us before though, and I don't think this would surprise him. He encouraged me to spend time with Pippin, after all. Go, Merry. Go look after Pippin. He looks lonely. You know he looks up to you. And you need to teach someone how to steal food, it'd be a shame to waste your talent.

I don't thing Sam would hate us. We've been his friend for a while. Although, his father wouldn't aprove, and he has trouble going against what the Gaffer says.

I don't even want to think about what Pippin's parents would say. His mother would probably quite happy, she always wanted what was best for her little Pip. Even if it did mean...

His father, Paladin, would be more dissapointed than mine. He's very... traditional, and, after waiting years for his son and heir, he devoted most of his time to teaching the future Thain. And sharing a bed with his cousin isn't normal behaviour, as far as I know.

Maybe we won't tell anyone. Maybe we'll just tell Frodo. And maybe we'll just tell everyone at Frodo's next birthday party, cause a big fuss and be bannished from the Shire.

I wonder...
