After everything, all his plans to sail to Tahiti with Summer, ended up being just that, A dream. He wondered how he ever got so close to Summer Roberts, The object of his affection since the third grade. He never figured he would be the one leaving Summer, never in a million years. And yet here he is.
He's made up his mind he tells himself as he packs his bags, He couldent live in newport without Ryan it would be just too hard. he lays the letters adressed to Summer and to his parents. He knew once he left, and they read the letters addressed to them.. things would never be the same, but then again, things wouldent be the same without Ryan. So he sets off to the Summer Breeze. He never thought hed be using the boat he named after her all those years ago, to get away from her. Once hes checked and checked again to make sure he has everything he needs but he knows he doesnt have everything. Ryan isnt there with him, Seth says a silent goodbye to Newport, theres no turning back now.
When Summer returned to the wedding in tears, Marissa knew something else was up. She Tells summer it will be alright, meanwhile her own life is falling apart infront of her. She tells Summer to wait there, she would be back, She hurriedly searches for Seth and notices the Range Rover is gone. "OH MY GOD" where is he? She gets into her vehicle and speeds off towards the Cohens house, very sure her mom wouldent even notice she was gone anyways. When she gets there, she runs upstairs to Seths room, and stops dead in her tracks. This didnt seem right. There wasnt anything missing from a first glance, but her gut feeling told her she was wrong, and wished for Summers and secretly her own, that she wouldent be right. She takes in the eerie feeling of the room, and looks around. There it is "I knew it" she says to nobody and picks up the letter meant for Summer. Marissa knew she shouldent be doing this, Summer would kill her, rage blackouts and all.

I
know this is going to be hard for you to take, but its even harder
for me to say. I never EVER thought I would say these words but
everything can change in a moment, you taught me that, and for that I
will be forever thankful. But I cant stay here, Before Ryan came
here, this place was hell for me I had no friends, no hope and never
thought I could be happy. and now that hes leaving..I dont think I
can make it here without him. I want you to know I will always love
you but for now its time for me to go. I cant ask you to wait for me,
But I will be back eventually. Im sorry,

Marissas heart was broken before she even read the letter,but now? The feeling was almost indescribable, It was as if the gravity had been getting heavier by every letter she read, and by the end of the letter she hit the floor, In the midst of her sobs, she knew she had to be strong. But what could she do? Ryan left, he was her strength, he helped her to live when she thought she could not alone, but without Seth, she would never be okay. She had to go after him. If theres a chance.. she could catch him.. stop him from leaving, to come back even if not for her, she would have to take it. She would find Seth. and tell him exactly what she felt. If she could figure it out herself..
