AN: I know I usually write DM stuff... but this short story was requested by someone... This story is for Samantha McCoy from the Las Vegas fan board. Any feedback is welcome.
Under a star

Samantha Jane Marquez looked up at the stars. It was a beautiful night. It was a shame that her one true love was not with her. Not that anyone knew of her feelings though. For a long time her crush had been that of a co-worker: Danny McCoy. They had once dated. For not very long because she had felt that he only wanted to get her into bed. But since he had invited her to work at the Montecito... She had felt different. Her feelings had changed and they had got to know each other slightly better.
Her feelings had overpowered her recently and her jealousy of Mary grew strong. Mary was a child-hood friend of Danny's and was very close. Sam, however, could see that there was more to the situation. Her feelings told her that there was probably an affair or something during their background.
Sam shook her head and muttered something barely audible to herself angrily. Jealousy was something she had never really felt before. It was annoying too. Every time she went to work, when she was at home and often with friends. It was the worst at work though. She often saw Danny and Mary laughing together during breaks or whenever Danny was sent to get something from her. Her eyes often filled with rage when she saw Danny kiss Mary's forehead or put his arm around her.
Sam sighed and stood up from her porch. She walked inside after another look back to the stars. She sat down on the couch in her living room and pulled up some files on a few of her current high rollers.
She looked up as she heard a knock on the door.
She opened the door moments later to see Danny. Her heart skipped a beat as he smiled at her.
"Umm." Danny started, unsure. "Can we talk?"
"Sure." Sam said as she let Danny enter her house. She had not known him for long but from what she saw, he was not himself.
Sam led Danny into the living room and gestured for him to sit down on the couch. She cleared her files off the table and then sat down next to him.
"So what's up?" She asked using one of her 'concerned' voices.
"I love you Sam." Danny said looking her in the eye. "Will you marry me?"
Sam's surprise was great and she leant forward and kissed Danny. "Of course."
.::Six months later::.
Danny and Sam kissed gently. The crowd cheered and confetti filled the air like snowflakes floating to the ground. Sam was three months pregnant and Danny was the father. It was more than Sam had hoped for the six months that followed Danny's proposal. But if she could, she wouldn't change a thing. It was her happily ever after...
