The characters of CSI are not my property, and I make no profit off this.
He stands there, oblivious, unaware
I am invisible to him once again
So wrapped up in his work he sits there
The light glints off his hair
Like silver, dark silver in the light
And like quicksilver
The more I reach out and grasp
The faster he slides through my hands
Sometimes I swear I see a glint
Of something deep in those eyes
When he thinks I don't see
But I can see his hunger
When he stares at me
Or at least I thought I did
When I first came to him
When he would stand by my side
When he would work with me
When he would talk to me, laugh with me
When I first dared to dream
That there might be something more
When he called me to his side
I thought maybe he felt something
Somewhere behind that cold facade
But all I see is a heart of stone in a statue
Like silver, dark silver in the light
That shines off his hair
And glints across those ice blue eyes
And maybe I was wrong, so wrong
I fell in love with a silver statue
And like quicksilver
My love runs through my hands and away
Leaving me empty.
