In the darkness, she could pretend it wasn't him. She could pretend she wasn't ruining someones marriage. She could dream of a perfect life, a perfect life where she wasn't the mistress and the man slowly moving within her, was actually her husband. That the wedding ring on his finger (the one that burned her skin when he touched her) symbolized their unity. And she had one similar, adorning her left hand.

In the light of day, she could pass him in the office, brush against his skin and watch as he smiled. He used to pull away. She could theorize with him and never once be stereo-typed as a woman who didn't know what she was talking about. They were equals.

In the office, no one knew of their relationship. He put it as being their 'little secret.' At first she was objective to that; no one wants to be someones secret. And after their first night together, she wanted to stand on top of a mountain and shout to the world that she was with Jack Malone. There was conflict though, and after his speech about not wanting to get them both fired, their little secret started to grow on her.

In the bedroom, the passion was overwhelming. On their nights together, it was amazing if they could even make it to the bedroom with out getting rid of clothes and placing kisses on burning skin. The softest of touches could lead to the deepest of feelings. It'd take a chaste kiss to her lips and her mind would be reeling. After a hard day of work, their moves were frantic--needy. On their better days, their moves were slow and sensual.

In the end, they'd never stop. No matter the place or time of day, they were always connected; either mentally or physically. As morning would come, so would a new beginning. Never an end. Never.

The End.
