Disclaimer: I do NOT own anything. The plot, probably.
Notes: Damn, I'm starting to have an obsession with one-sided Loki x Fenris...but anyway. This goes out for my unprecedented insanity...hehehe...On with the fic!
Silence...
-hajime
"Fenris Fenrir? What is it that bothers you?" He broke the thin thread of silence with a question he himself never thought he'd ask.
She's been like this for the past few days and he does not think he could tolerate her behavior any longer. Fenris...she...she's been ...un-Fenris lately...
She could just stare at the sky all day. She could just stand on one corner of the room for hours without taking any break or rest. She could even close her eyes simply as he tries to caress with all the passion he could muster.
As much as he hated to admit it, he was starting to not feel her presence. It's as if she's lost herself and she does not have any intentions in getting back. It's as if she's lost her interest in...
He bit his lower lip. It was only then when he tasted the copper-like flavor that he realized he bit his lip too hard. Blood dripped.
And she...just stared.
Under normal circumstances, it would have been unbelievable but Loki being Loki, he's had an idea of what was going to take place. The assassin stared back as he tried to pull himself upward and roll off of the body beneath his. Using the back of his hand, he wiped the dark liquid that trickled down the side of his mouth.
Fenris stayed still as if she was just a misplaced life-sized doll lying on Loki's bed.
The assassin sat up, eyes blazing with an unknown emotion he has yet to discover. He didn't want to talk, he was afraid he knew the answer to his questions all along. Yes, he was afraid. The great Loki, Captain of the Assassin's Guild, is also human and he, too, is not immuned to fear.
"Fenris...it is Chaos, is it not? It is about the rune knight and the cleric together, is it not?!" He watched as life sparked back into his partner's eyes at mere mention of Chaos' name. They flashed with enthusiasm, then with great sorrow.
The assassin didn't know how to react at first. After a few seconds, he shook his head and sighed painfully.
He's lost her...no-wait- he didn't. He never really had her anyway so how could he lose her? Logic took over the assassin's mind.
Slowly, he lay down again, folding his arms behind his head for comfort.
Why was he doing this? Why was he hurting himself over and over again? For some girl?
No, Fenris was never just "some" girl. She was "the" girl. And for that, Loki would endure anything. Anything and everything to keep her with him even if it meant fooling himself to believe in a dream-like reality he knew would never exist.
He chuckled to himself. Was he going insane? Maybe. But maybe it was just his way to cheer himself up.
Loneliness has always been a great company of his since time immemorial. It has always been good to be alone. Nobody could hurt him. Nobody would have the power to reach through the barrier he set up to shield his soul from unnecessary emotions. If only he had not met Fenris...
But still, he didn't regret anything.
She was there, he was there, they were together and that was what mattered.
"Fenris?"
"..."
"Fenris?!"
"...what..."
"...I'm here..."
"?"
"I just...want you to know..."
"..."
"..."
"...you're there, Loki...I know..."
A pair of aqua orbs widened, a faint smile then gracing his lips.
"I love you, Fenris Fenrir..."
"...I know..."
