This is my first one shot. It is about my favorite X-men couple, Rogue and Gambit. As seen through Gambit's eyes shortly after a strange Apocalypse moment. Well you will see.
Disclaimer: Nope. If I owned this that would mean I owned Marvel. That would mean I am stinking rich. That would mean that I would hire someone else to be creative while I sit on my butt. No none of that is true.
Rogue Angel
A rogue is someone who can cause trouble or damage. Well, when I hear that word that is not what I think of. I think of her. My angel. Maybe that is a good name for her. She certainly has caused me a lot of trouble. Including, getting me kicked out of the Acolytes. She is still the only girl I have ever met to turn down my sweet talk.
When I first saw my angel, it wasn't the most pleasant circumstances. Actually, I was sent to kill her. Well, I was to kill her people too, but she was the only one that mattered to me. I really couldn't believe that someone like her could exist. She was completely pure, untouchable. She had no idea of the evils this world had. But when I met her I didn't know that. All I knew was that she was gorgeous.
She had a beautifully pale face, probably all of the makeup she wore. Her hair was well, you would have to see it to believe it. The silver stripes framed her beautiful face. It all complimented her. She was perfection. But her perfection was even better than 'perfect' because she didn't know she was beautiful. Everyone saw it but she would never know.
I walked up to her, our first day together, and gave her a card. And like an angel she trusted me. She shouldn't have but she did. She stared at me with total amazement. I guess that was how I was looking at her too. But when I turned to walk away, I heard the card explode. I gave a silent prayer that she had thrown it, and that I would see her another day.
I did see her another day. Mostly because I made sure to see her before and after she went to school. In just a few days I knew everything about her. Her walk, her rare smiles, and her expressions were all permanently etched in my memory.
She tried to stay to herself as much as she could. I only saw her with one true friend, Risty, and you couldn't even call that friend true. Anyway, Rogue trusted her. So when Rogue found out that she was actually Mystique, she was blown over the edge. I wanted to help her, but I could never approach her. What could I say to an angel?
She was always so ready to protect people. She was full of life. She was the only thing that my heart ever told me I needed. One day she came right into the Acolytes base. She wasn't herself though. Her eyes were clouded over and the slow, steady walk that I had come to memorize was different. She walked with a purpose.
Something controlled her as she took all of my teammate's powers. When I was the last one left, she did something completely unexpected. She kissed me. For a second it was wonderful and I could feel her lips pushing against mine. Then I felt the irresistible pull of sleep.
That was a few hours ago. I'm worried that I lost my angel forever. I never knew what to do or what to say, but when I find her I will. I will tell her how I feel and then she won't be a rogue angel anymore. She will be my angel.
Well this is only my second fanfic and nobody has reviewed my first so PLEASE review my second.
