A brief history of the UAC and the martion incident.

2006-A crippling depression sweeps the United States, The National Aeronautics Space Administration (NASA) is bought out by a virtually unknown company named Union Aerospace Corporation (UAC).
2012-WWIII Begins.
2016-Allied Nations are victorious and merge their governments into one. The United Earth Government is born.
2021-The UAC proves its worth by finishing and optimizing the ISS.
2035-The UAC expands into military marketing by beating Lockheed-Marten with the unveiling of the F/A-75 Angle, the first ultra-high altitude super sonic fighter.
2045-Global warming and dwindling resources reach a critical point. The UAC perfects the fusion reaction and delivers limitless energy.
2056-With fusion powered engines now possible, the UAC launches the first manned mission to Mars.
2057-After 17 months of travel, humans first set foot on Mars. Just 20 miles south of the future Mars City.
2069-After 3 more missions to Mars, the UAC sets up satellites to help predict weather on Mars.
2075-Water is found in the Martian poles. The UGE loses interest in Mars; the UAC with its near limitless budget starts its own base.
2095-Construction begins on Mars City and Alpha Labs. Malcolm Betruger is born.
2105-a strange cavern is discovered that leads into an ancient Martian civilization. Digging begins in Site 1.
2109-Site 2 is found but holds nothing of interest.
2112-Site 3 found and reveals the U1, or Sole-Cube. (Martian name: Premeanthor) and the 4 tablets.
2125-Malcom Betruger graduates from UAC academy with a Doctrine in theoretical physics and quantum physics.
2135-Mars City is complete. The base is now virtually independent of Earth. Constructions on Delta labs begin.
2137-Alpha labs are fully operational. UAC begins researching plasma.
2138-The UAC develops the series 1 and 2 plasma guns.
2140-The ultimate weapon of death is created. The BFG 8k, a mobile thermonuclear plasma platform that vaporizes everything within 15 meters of the blast radius.
2142-Dr. Betruger is employed by the UAC as a top scientist.
2144-Dr. Betruger and his assistant, Ian McCormick, are moved to delta labs and begin research on teleportation.
