Chapter 1 - Kairi Believes

Kairi walked down the beach wandering what she should do today. She wanted to do something fun and interesting. She used to turn to Sora to find something to do. But, as she choked back a sob, she couldn't do that anymore.

She sat down on the sand loooking out at the sea. She revisited memories of her and Sora, and even Riku. She sat there, remembering the good times, trying to forget the bad.

Why did she let go os Sora's hand? Why didn't she insist on going with him in the Secret Waterway? Why did she only give him her lucky charm? She leaned forward, buried her head in her hands, and cried.

She remembered that day, and sat up instantly. Sora had said something. What was it? She racked her brain trying to remember, and it hit her. His voice spoke to her like the day it had in the Secret Waterway.

"Even if we're apart, we're not alone anymore."

Of course! They're hearts were connected. How could she have forgotton? She stood up and believed. She believed with all her heart that she could see Sora again. Even just for a minute. She squinted her eyes shut, and when she opened them, she gasped.

A kid. A kid no older than she was had his back to her a few yards away. He wore red shorts and had brown hair. As relization dawned on her, she ran toward him yelling his name.
