I Will Remember You

Dis: Nothing! Absolutely nothing! You think people would realize by now but noooo!

A/N: I just realized this will be my first Inu-Yasha and Kagome fic! Yay! Well I hope you like it!

Summary: The final battle is over. Kagome still needs to purify the jewel but to do it she needs to go to her time. And stay there.

"Inu-Yasha. I'll never forget you. Please don't forget me" wept the stormy orbed girl as she held her hanyou close.

I will remember you
Will you remember me?

"Live a good life my Kagome. And don't cry" Inu-Yasha told her doing his best to sound mean.

Don't let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories

If he could just hate her like he did when they first met things would be so much easier. The first time they met. So many memories. 'No!' Inu-Yasha commanded himself. 'Thinking of those will only make things worse!'

Remember the good times that we had?
I let them slip away from us when things got bad

He remembered when Kagome stood on a hill smiling. She had just helped defeat a demon and she was so proud of herself. He wanted nothing more than to pick her up and tell her how much he loved her.

How clearly I first saw you smilin' in the sun
Wanna feel your warmth upon me, I wanna be the one

"Goodbye. My Inu-Yasha." She sobbed as she jumped into the well. "Goodbye. My Kagome." He whispered for no one to hear.

Weep not for the memories

Inu-Yasha sat on a tree branch waiting for a sleep that would never come. He kept looking at the well expectantly. Hoping for Kagome to jump out yelling "April Fooled!" that holiday she told him about where people try to trick each other.

I'm so tired but I can't sleep
Standin' on the edge of something much too deep

"Keh. Stupid wench. Like I seriously care she's gone." he instantly could have hit himself. He knew he loved her. More than life itself. He wanted to tell her. But now he lost his chance.

Its funny how we feel so much but we cannot say a word
We are screaming inside, but we can't be heard

Kagome knew she always loved him. But she feared rejection. That's why she'd always go on dates with Hojo she knew he would never hurt her.

I'm so afraid to love you, but more afraid to loose

'Stop it!' the girl commanded herself mentally. 'Stop thinking about him. It's not like I can do anything' she thought sadly.

Clinging to a past that doesn't let me choose

She had never felt this way before. Not about anyone. But him. He made her happy. Just seeing him lit up her day.

Once there was darkness, deep and endless night
You gave me everything you had, oh you gave me light

Speaking of light the Shikon no Tama started glowing. Kagome's hands clutched it tightly as her eyes widened. A ring around the well glowed too.

Inu-Yasha noticed the light. He sat up and looked over at the well curiously and hopefully.

A voice echoed in her head. 'What do you wish?' it asked without saying anything aloud. 'I wish the well would open up again' she thought. Her whole heart wished it.

'Be your wish granted' a voice commanded. Kagome jumped and the well let out a burst of light.

Inu-Yasha nearly fell out of the tree as he saw a figure emerge from the well. He jumped down instantly. "Kagome?" he whispered. "How?" "The Shikon" she whispered as she gazed into his strong amber eyes.

Without thinking he pulled her into a tight hug. "Kagome. I love you" he whispered. At once all of Kagome's fears of rejection fled and happiness filled her heart. "I love you too" she whispered.
