Amy's Quest: Four Key Jewels
Disclaimer: What do I need this section for? You know what I own and what I don't.
Author's note: Because Amy doesn't have enough starring roles, that's why. I figure this story will make a good plot for a video game when it's done. It's also inspired partially by Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.

Chapter 1: Prologue

Variety Plains is a vast island with many points of interest. Legends tell of a demon's soul fast asleep within the caves in the volcano, at the island's center.
Among the attractions of this island are Topaz Ruins, a maze of ancient mystery, and Ruby Castle, where many guards parade and keep out intruders. The island is also the location of Pearl Village, a small town that is said to be haunted, and Sapphire Mountains, a mountain range covered in much snow.
It's this island that Sonic and Tails chose for their week-long vacation one day. The vacation went according to plan for a few days. For a few days.
Why did I repeat that? Let me explain. One morning during the vacation, Sonic left their resort hotel on Starfish Beach to explore the volcano.
He never came back.
Night fell without Sonic returning, and Tails began to worry. He tried to call Sonic's cell phone, but nobody answered.
The next day, a tourist spoke with Tails. "Are you friends with that blue hedgehog?" the tourist asked.
"No two friends are closer," Tails replied.
"Well, yesterday I saw Sonic enter the volcano's caves. I waited all day, but he never came out. I was about to go in and investigate, but a magical barrier appeared over the entrance."
"Magical barrier?"
"Yes. According to legend, such a barrier as this one can be broken only if the four Key Jewels are united. The Key Sapphire, Key Pearl, Key Ruby, and Key Topaz are said to be hidden throughout this island. None of them have ever been found."
Tails was impressed and frightened by this story at the same time. He picked up the phone and called Amy Rose at her job at Amber's Jewelry.
RIIING RIIING! (click) "Amber's Jewelry. Amy Rose here. May I help you?"
"Listen, Amy. It's me, Tails, calling from Variety Plains. It's urgent! Sonic has disappeared. Meet me on Starfish Beach this afternoon and I'll explain everything."
"No problem, Tails. Be right there." (click) "Sorry, Amber, but I have to take the rest of the day off. See you tomorrow!"
