It was a bright sunny day. All the kids in Tomoeda Elementary were having a great time at the school Athletic Festival. But as they got ready to run the marathon, a mysterious girl was watching from a tree.
The girl was none other than Megumi Akizuki, master trickster and Eriol's newest creation. "Athletic Festivals are soooo boring. Nothing amusing is ever going on." She complained. Megumi sighed as she aimed her binoculars at the kids warming up for the marathon. She was about to give up when her eyes landed on Takashi Yamazaki and Chiharu Mihara.
'Takashi will definitely be one of the winners,' Megumi thought. 'he's really fast. But Chiharu....' Megumi thought for a second. Chiharu wasn't the slowest one in class. Naoko was. But still....
Megumi grinned. Yes, this would be a great trick. So she used her PINK SWIRLY STAFF OF DOOM to freeze time, then jumped down from the tree. She ran over to the kids and pulled out a pair of pretty pink handcuffs. Quickly she put the handcuffs around Takashi and Chiharu's wrists. She ran back to the tree and jumped back in it. Then she unfroze time and grinned.
Chiharu looked down at her wrist. "Yamazaki-kun! Did you do this?"
Takashi looked confused. "Do what?" He asked. Chiharu groaned."Put these handcuffs on us!" She yelled. "Uh... no..." Takashi said, confused.
"Yamazaki-kun! You're lying!" She scolded. "I'm serious! I didn't do it!" He said. "Hai, hai. Now give me the key so we can get on with the race." Chiharu said. "I don't have the key! I swear!" Takashi said.
Chiharu thought for a minute. If they were handcuffed, they wouldn't be able to race. She didn't think Takashi would do something that would make him not be able to race. He loved those marathons.
"Okay, I guess I believe you. But what about the race? How are we going to run if we're stuck together?" She asked.
"What do you mean? We just run like usual. We can do it!" He said, grinning. "Okay, whatever you say." Chiharu said quietly.
