Chapter Thirty-Two: Evil's Awakening

When the group reconvened at the Tower of the Gods, they noticed a black submarine docked nearby and Seto Kaiba and two thugs wearing suits standing on both sides of him.

"Seto Kaiba? What are you doing here?" Mr. Floyd asked. Kaiba tilted his head towards his submarine.

"Get the Floyds now," Seto Kaiba commanded. Everyone gasped as the two suits pulled guns from underneath their coats.

"What's going on? Have you gone mad?" Mrs. Floyd demanded. Mr. Floyd jumped and rolled towards the suits, dodging two shots. He then sprung up and landed two clean uppercuts on their chins. The guards fell back, dropping their guns. Mr. Floyd went to advance on Kaiba when Kaiba shot him in the heart region. Mr. Floyd fell to his knees and looked down to see a tiny syringe in is chest filled with a clear blue liquid.

"Tranquilizers," he mumbled as he fell onto his back. The guards then advanced on Mrs. Floyd. She stepped in front of the teens.

"Take me, but leave my daughter alone," Mrs. Floyd said, raising her hands.

"Fine. Take her away," Kaiba commanded. One guard kept the teens at bay while Mrs. Floyd walked towards the submarine with the guard's gun at her back.

"Kaiba! What do you think you're doing?" Yami demanded.

"Yugi! This doesn't concern you so stay out of my way or you might get hurt," Kaiba warned.

"I'll take my chances if it's my friends you are endangering!"

"Yugi, your so called 'friendship' is going to burn you in the end, especially if you're friends with her!" Kaiba pointed at Saria. Saria's face turned scarlet.

"How dare you! You won't get away with this Seto Kaiba!" Saria shouted. Kaiba smiled.

"I already have. By the way, I have two presents for you. Here's number one," Kaiba said, nodding to the guard. Saria groaned in pain as she was shot in the left arm with a tranquilizer dart.

"And here's number two!" A missile fired from underneath the water and hit the Courage IX's rear end.

"No!" Saria cried as the tranquilizer began to take effect. Kaiba and his guards, hefting the fallen Mr. Floyd, climbed into the sub.

"If you value your parents, bring me the Triforce Destiny Cards!" Kaiba's sub then vanished below the waves.

"No! Mom! Dad!" Saria whispered, trying to fight the tranquilizer's effect.

"What are we gonna do now?" Joey wondered.

"Hop aboard!" Came Matson's voice. The Courage IX teleported everyone aboard.

"Strap yourselves in! We're going to chase down Kaiba!" Matson warned.

"What about Saria?" Yugi asked pointing to the now unconscious Saria.

"Take her to the dorms and lay her down. Don't forget to strap her in!" Matson replied. Joey and Tristan lay the sleeping Saria into a bed and put on what looked like seatbelts. The boys then rejoined the group in the bridge and sat down. Everyone put on seatbelts.

"Ready? Cause here we go!" Matson said, pulling a hand sized lever. Everyone cried out as the Courage IX hit the water and sunk below.

"You can get up now," Matson said. Everyone wearily stood up and looked out the windows. They could barely see anything through the dark blue waters.

"Whoa!" Joey said awed.

"Cool huh? It's too bad Kaiba knocked out the auxiliary thrusters," Matson said, joining them.

"What does that mean for us?" Teran asked.

"We can't catch Kaiba's submarine. We're going to need a new ship to stop him," Matson replied.

"Where are we gonna get one?" Mai asked.

"Back at Outset Island where else? The Floyd Industries building has several aircraft in docking. It may be time for us to bust out our newest model," Matson replied as he went back to the controls.

"I'm going to check on Saria," Teran declared and he headed for the dorms. Everyone then just kind of sat around, unsure of what to do about Kaiba. Yugi approached Matson.

"Hey Commander Matson. Do you have any idea what a Triforce Destiny Card is?" Yugi asked. Matson flipped a lever and turned to Yugi.

"Yes I do know what a Triforce Destiny Card is. They are a set of six cards resembling the first great heroes and villain of ancient Hyrule. You've seen four of them already: Master Sword Ritual, Hero of Time, Call of Destiny and the Princess of Destiny. The two you haven't seen yet are the Evil's Summoning Ritual and Ganondorf, the King of Evil. Their powers are equal to that of the Egyptian God Cards," Matson explained.

"How's that possible? How could those cards equal the power of the Egyptian Gods?" Yami asked, merging spirits with Yugi.

"Each set of cards has an elemental that matches the Triforce they represent. Ganondorf represents Power, the Princess represents Wisdom and the Hero represents Courage. I don't know much more about these cards except that only one who bears the matching Triforce can control the power of the cards."

"But Saria was able to command her cards and she didn't have both Triforces."

"Wrong! Saria has the elements of Wisdom and Courage, allowing her to control both Triforce Destiny monsters. She's held the Triforce of Courage and now holds the Triforce of Wisdom instead. When the Triforce of Courage vanished, it left behind an elemental so she can control the Hero of Time."

"But what happened to the Triforce of Courage? Why did it leave her?"

"I can't tell you, yet. But I promise you you'll find out where it went soon enough." That was clearly the end of the conversation. Afterwards, everyone had dinner, which was cooked by Joey. But despite the excellent meal, no one was happy. Saria then woke up, slightly numb. She soundlessly ate some of Joey's meal then sat down at a window seat in the recreation room. Joey, Mai, Tristan and Serenity shot a game of pool while Teran sipped a shake he had made. Yugi came up to Saria.

"Can I have this seat?" Yugi asked timidly. Saria nodded, her gaze still on the window.

"Saria, we're worried about you. We'll stop Kaiba if that's what you're worried about," Yugi stated.

"I know you'll try but it's not Kaiba I'm worried about. It's what's inside of him. I sensed great evil coming from him," Saria said.

"Really? That's strange. I didn't sense anything," Yugi said, looking down in thought.

"Well, that's not all I'm worried about. Hey Yugi. Can I speak to Yami for a minute?" Saria asked.

"Uh, sure. I'll put him on," Yugi said. He switched spirits with Yami.

"Yugi said you wanted to talk to me. What's up?" Yami asked.

"Yami, do you know what you were like in the past? I mean, do you have any memories about your home, your friends, anything?"

"I can't recall very much as you know. I already told you everything I know."

"Well, do you ever wish you knew more?" Yami nodded.

"Yes, always. I may know very little now, but someday I feel that I will learn everything and that when I do, all will be made clear to me."

"OK."

"Why'd you ask?"

"Because I know next to nothing about my family or their past. My parents are very secretive about their past. They won't share it with me, even when I ask. They always change the subject."

"Maybe they feel their past is too dangerous to share with you. Maybe they are protecting you by not telling you."

"No, I don't think that's it."

"What made you think of trying to recall your parents' past?"

"I heard a strange conversation between my parents before we arrived at Greatfish Island." Saria then told the spirit all she had heard.

"Strange. I wonder what they were talking about?"

"Welcome to my world! I just wish I knew what they meant by 'He's not ready yet'. It sounded like someone was preparing someone for a task."

"Have you asked Commander Matson about it?"

"If they won't share it with me, why would they share it with Commander Matson?"

"Good point. But what worries me the most is that they mentioned me and trying to repel the power of the Shadow Realm. What do they want me to do for them?"

"I'm not sure. But I just recalled something."

"What?"

"It's supposed to be secret but maybe it'll tie in with the mystery at hand."

"OK. What are you thinking?"

"The Triforce of Courage is supposed to go the first born child of the family line."

"OK. So?"

"Why did I carry it for a time, then have my Triforce switched while I was snoozing?" Yami gasped.

"You don't think...?"

"I'm going to get the answers I want now from Matson." Saria then abruptly stood up and left the room, but not before bumping into Mai who was taking a difficult shot.

"Watch it!" Mai warned as Saria ran by. Yami quickly followed but not before telling Mai.

"Mai! Aim for the one in the corner, not the one at the side," Yami advised. Mai shot and knocked not one but two balls in.

"Want to give up now? We got your numbers," Joey said, smirking. Saria and Yami entered the bridge to find the crew of the Courage IX busy guiding the ship.

"Ah Saria! We're almost to the docking station... What's up?" Matson asked, seeing the look on Saria's face.

"Matson, what do you know about my parents? Their past I mean," Saria asked. Matson bit his lip.

"Well, I've known your father since he was eighteen years old and I began working for him after you were born. Before then, I don't know anything. I never really asked," Matson said. Saria looked down in disappointment.

"Oh."

"Anything wrong?"

"Kind of. Seeing my parents kidnapped made me remember that I know almost nothing about them that's all."

"Well, if it makes you feel better, I can search the databases for anything that might tell you something about your parents. How 'bout that?" Matson offered.

"Thank you." Then Saria sat down to wait for the Courage IX to dock in the Floyd's underwater hangar.

"I'm going to go home to bed," Saria yawned.

"I'm down for that," Teran admitted and everyone followed Saria into town towards the Floyd home. As they approached the front yard, the group saw lights on.

"Uh oh! That's not good!" Saria stated and everyone ran up to the house. When they opened the front door, they gasped.
