Chapter Forty-Seven: It's Not Over Yet
"Hey! Here they come!" Joey called. The teenagers gathered at the window to see the drop ship dropping off their friends. Moments later, Ryan and Yugi entered the bridge where they were greeted by handshakes, bear hugs and noogies. Just as Ryan hugged Serenity, Serenity gasped. Ryan turned to the bridge entrance and saw Saria dressed in her street clothes waiting.
"Saria!" Ryan cried out and the twins hugged for what seemed like an eternity.
"The gang's all back together again," Yugi sighed as the two broke it up and Ryan handed back the Triforce Destiny Cards of Wisdom.
"Yes and now we have all the Triforce Destiny Cards," Yami added, staring at Ryan handing Ashley the two cards he had acquired from Kaiba.
"Hey you guys! The Shadow Tower is collapsing!" Mr. Floyd shouted. Everyone joined him at the window and looked to the north to see the tower of darkness collapsed. But just before it ended, a crimson beam fired from it, flying southeast.
"What's that?" Tristan wondered.
"I don't know but I got a bad feeling," Ryan admitted.
"Yeah, I sense it too," Ashley added.
"It sounds like Kaiba's not done with us yet," Yugi thought.
"Yes and now we have to find out what that beam was," Yami declared.
"I know where it's heading. It's heading back to the Tower of the Gods," Saria stated. Everyone looked at her.
"Don't ask me how I know. I just know it. We have to go back to the undersea palace right away!" Saria added.
"You sure about this?" Mrs. Floyd asked. Saria nodded.
"I've never been so sure of anything."
"OK then. Ensign, set our course for the Tower of the Gods," Mr. Floyd replied. Moments later, the Courage X was flying southward and everyone was in the recreation room trying to enjoy themselves. Ryan had given back the cards he had borrowed and reassembled his deck so that he had a Dark Magician he could use. Mrs. Floyd was getting the mail and as she looked over it in the rec room, one letter caught her eye. It was addressed to Yugi.
"Hey Yugi. This came for you earlier via air mail," Mrs. Floyd said, handing Yugi the letter. Yugi took it and saw this letter resembled the one he had received from the Ishtars.
"What does your letter say Yugi?" Teá asked. Yugi read it over and pulled out two cards. Yugi recognized the two remaining cards. One was a blue color and the monster on it was big and burly. It's glowing red eyes, sharp teeth and wings looked as if the monster was designed to scare anyone who crossed its path. The second card was a golden color and it had a large gold winged dragon with a blue jewel that covered its forehead on it. It had razor sharp claws and red eyes.
"It's Obelisk the Tormentor!" Yugi gasped at the blue card.
"And The Winged Dragon of Ra!" Yami added, staring at the gold card.
"Whoa! Now you have all three Egyptian God Cards again! But didn't you give them to Marik just before the tournament?" Teá asked.
"I did. I wanted to duel without them to keep my skills sharp but according to the letter, something came up and Marik had to send them back to me," Yugi replied, staring at the letter in his hand.
"So I guess that means when we get home, we're going to be swamped by duelists like just before we faced Anubis huh?" Teá sighed, groaning at the memory of the Egyptian sorcerer her friends had defeated and the armies of duelists they had run into beforehand, all seeking to challenge Yugi for his Egyptian God Cards.
"Probably but right now, I should probably put these into my deck," Yugi said, glancing at the two cards he held. Teá watched as Yugi took two of his cards out and slipped in his Egyptian God Cards.
Now I have all three Egyptian God Cards again, just like before. And maybe this time, I'll actually hold onto them. Yugi thought, glancing at his deck.
Yes, I believe we should hold onto them Yugi. I have a strong feeling that we will need them in the trials ahead. Yami said. It seemed like days until Mr. Floyd finally called everyone's attention towards the Tower of the Gods. The team arrived and saw a dragon cloud floated over the tower. Situated near the water was one of Kaiba's craft, the Blue Eyes White Jet, a jet crafted to resemble a Blue Eyes White Dragon.
"There's Kaiba's jet and there's the sleaze ball going down to the castle!" Joey said, pointing out a figure vanishing in the ring of light, which was now a violet color.
"Lets go! We have to stop him!" Saria declared and the teens disembarked from the airship and ran for the light ring, the adults not far behind. The teenagers hit the ring first and teleported down.
"Wait for us!" Mr. Floyd shouted when the ring vanished.
"What the?"
"It's a trap!" Darunia boomed. The adults then realized Darunia was right. Climbing onto the platform were four-legged demons.
"Quick! Take them out!" Lance commanded and the adults charged.
BACK AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA...
"What happened to the light ring?" Serenity wondered. After arriving at the castle, the group had seen the ring shrivel up and vanish.
"No time to wonder now. We have to get inside!" Saria said urgently and the group followed her into the castle. As they entered, they could hear a faint ringing sound.
"What's that sound?" Teá wondered. There was then a bright flash of light the blinded everyone. Saria was the first to recover.
"What in the name of Nayru was that?" Saria asked, looking around, "Yugi! Ryan! Ashley! Where are the others?" The four duelists saw that their friends were missing until Ryan spotted movement on the other side of the castle.
"Quick! Over there!" Ryan pointed. The group went down the main staircase and gasped at the sight. Where the Triforce mark was there was a stone slab where a single card hung and standing next to it was Kaiba and two semi-transparent beings. One wore purple armor and carried a large purple shield and sword. The other had a black cape and blond hair. His body was tanned and his bulging muscles had several veins showing. The trio then turned to the group. The blond man had red armbands on his wrists, black pants and black boots. Around his neck was a blue glass pyramid-shaped object with a gold eye symbol on it. Yugi and Yami recognized him immediately.
"It can't be!" Yugi gasped.
"It is Yugi," Yami replied, as he stepped forward towards Kaiba.
"So Anubis, this kid is Yugi huh? Doesn't look like much to me," the man in purple armor said.
"Yeah, but the kid beat me. He's not to be underestimated Damon," Anubis replied.
"Yeah, just so long as you don't underestimate the kids with the Triforce," Damon shot back.
"So Anubis, I'm surprised you're still alive. Didn't I defeat you back after Battle City?" Yami wondered. Anubis laughed.
"Ha! You did destroy my body and my Pyramid of Light," Anubis replied, fingering the relic around his neck, "But little did you know I preserved myself in magic ore that was used to forge an ancient relic of Hyrule." Saria gasped.
"You preserved yourself? How?" Saria demanded.
"So demanding... Well, the magic ore was used to forge a gateway between this realm and the Shadow Realm through an item called the Dark Mirror," Anubis explained, "The mirror was used to seal away an ancient tribe that sought to destroy the land of Hyrule. I didn't know it, but when the ore took on the form of the Dark Mirror, I was recreated and my Pyramid of Light was as well."
"So Kaiba did take it from the temple, just like Saria said," Saria mumbled.
"Now that Damon has the Triforce Destiny Card of Darkness, I can finally reap my revenge against you Pharaoh!" Anubis shouted, pointing at Yami Yugi.
"Yes, and don't think you three twerps are off the hook either! I have business of my own to tend with you. Your parents sealed me away in the Dark Mirror until Kaiba set me free. And I think the best revenge I can get from your families would be to destroy you three, claim your Triforce pieces and send Hyrule to the depths of the ocean!" Damon laughed manically.
"Actually I have a better way. We'll use their friends against them!" Kaiba replied, snapping his fingers. The four teenagers gasped as an unconscious Joey, Tristan, Serenity and Teá appeared suspended in the air by binding rings of darkness.
"If you want to save your friends, you'll come to my castle! But until then, farewell losers!" Kaiba smirked, and he snapped his fingers, turning himself and the others into a blazing red beam that went out the door behind him.
"No!" Ashley called.
"We have to stop them!" Saria stated.
"And save our friends!" Ryan added.
"OK, then lets follow Kaiba!" Yugi urged. The four teenagers left the castle by the door Kaiba used and found themselves at the front of the castle. As they crossed the white stone bridge and went underneath the stone arch, the area began to rumble furiously.
"What's going on?" Ryan shouted. It was then the group looked to the left and saw torrential waters rushing to greet them.
"Run for high ground!" Ashley shouted. The four ran to the right and up the hill, trying to avoid the waters that were coming in from above.
"We'll never outrun it!" Yugi shouted as he reached the crest of the hill. It was then the rumbling got worse as a large castle appeared ahead of the group.
"Quick! Lets hitch a ride!" Saria shouted as she grabbed the metal gate leading to the castle courtyard. No one protested as they each established a firm grip on the gate. It was then the castle lifted off for the surface in a rush of dark magic.
ON THE SURFACE...
"That's the last one!" Mr. Floyd said as he punched the last demon out into the water. But just as the demon hit the water, the entire area began to rumble furiously and the adults watched as a large black castle, surrounded in a barrier of dark energy, emerged from the watery depths.
"What in the name of the gods is that?" Lance gasped. Mr. Floyd pulled out a pair of binoculars and zoomed in at the castle.
"Looks like a flying castle..." Mr. Floyd replied when he spotted the four teenagers that were going through the main gate, "Wait! I just spotted Saria, Ryan, Ashley and Yugi! They're going inside!" It was then the rumbling began to occur again. Water swirled at the adults' feet as the Tower of the Gods began to sink.
"Quick! Back to the Courage X!" Darunia shouted, pointing towards the waiting craft. The adults climbed in and watched helplessly as the tower sank to the bottom of the ocean.
"Just like before, evil is awakening," Becky sighed as the tower vanished below the churning waves.
"Yes and it is up to our children to stop it," Sabrina added, staring intently at the floating castle.
