Chapter Fifty-Three: The Final Battle Part 6
I hope we're up for this. Damon has hurt so many people and now I'm bringing my friends into battle. But I know we can do this! I know we can stop Damon once and for all! Saria thought worriedly as she and the others climbed the stairs to the roof. At the top of the stairs was a large domed room with glass walls. The stone floor had ancient markings on it and standing on the Triforce insignia in the center of the room was the purple-armor clad Damon, his sword and shield in his hands.
"Welcome! I see you beat my two pawns but you won't fare so well against me, I assure you!" Damon greeted as Saria stepped forward.
"Damon, I challenge you to a duel!" Saria replied, fierce determination written on her face. Damon grinned.
"Very well, but even if all of you were to duel me, you would lose and so I will let each of you duel me, starting with the female Wheeler!" Damon replied, pointing at Serenity, "Each of us will have 4000 life points but if one of you falls, another will take their place. Since there are so many of you, you'll duel in this order; First Serenity, then Joey, Tristan, the Sage of Light, the Sage of Time, the pathetic Hero and the Pharaoh. So if you think you have what it takes to defeat me, then step onto my arena," Damon explained.
"Serenity be careful," Joey warned as Serenity prepped her watch. Serenity nodded and looked at her foe.
"You ready to lose your soul kid?" Damon grinned.
"Not unless you're ready to take a pummeling!" Serenity replied as she drew five cards
"Then lets duel! And I'll start off by playing the field magic card I stole from the castle under the sea, Seal of the Demons!" Damon began, playing a field magic card. Everyone watched as the room began to darken and the ancient seals on the stone floor lit up with dark yellow light.
"Explain yourself!" Yami shouted.
"This magic card's legendary powers summons my ancient powers, allowing all duelists to summon Dark-attribute monsters without having to sacrifice and therefore I can summon Invader of Darkness (2900/2500) in attack mode to end my turn!" Damon replied, summoning a fiend monster whose body was a shining gold but had a long, elaborate black cape covering its body.
So that's why Damon was eager to duel all of us! He can summon any Dark-monsters he wants without having to sacrifice! Yugi thought worriedly as Serenity drew.
Since my deck has few Dark-attribute monsters, I can't make use of the seal's powers so all I can do is defend myself. Serenity thought.
"I'll set one card facedown and summon a monster in defense mode!" Serenity declared, placing her cards on the field.
"Heh heh heh. If that's all you got, I can finish you this turn," Damon boasted as he drew, "Now, I'll use the seal's power to summon Serpent Night Dragon (2350/2400) in attack mode, then I'll empower my monsters with the magic of my Dark Magical Fury card." As Damon played his card, his monsters began to glow a crimson color.
"Now, I discard one card from my hand and that'll raise the attack points of each of my monsters by 300 points but with a monster in defense mode on your side of the field, you should be safe right? Wrong. This magic card will also inflict battle damage to your life points regardless of what position your monster is in so go my monsters and devastate her life points!" Damon commanded. Serpent Night Dragon fired several sonic blasts at Serenity's monster, cutting it to pieces. Invader of Darkness then raised its hand to the sky and fired a barrage of thunderbolts at Serenity, electrocuting her and depleting her life points.
"Serenity!" Joey cried as she crumpled and fell to the ground. The others watched as Serenity's body was lifted up by Invader of Darkness and placed in a glowing green crystal.
"Damon!" Joey shouted in rage. He charged through the seal and prepped his duel disk.
"You ready Wheeler? If you don't hurry, her soul will be mine!" Damon taunted as Joey drew six cards from his deck.
"Don't you even think about hurting my sis! I summon Swordsman of Landstar (500/1200) in attack mode then I'll place three cards facedown to end my turn!" Joey threatened, summoning his alien swordsman. Damon drew a card and smirked.
"I know your plan Wheeler. You intend to use Graceful Dice to bolster the power of your monster and then use Skull Dice to weaken my monster," Damon began, noticing Joey's plan, "But I warn you! That won't work because I summon Jinzo (2400/1500) in attack mode!" Everyone watched as a Jinzo appeared on Damon's side of the field.
"Hold on Damon! I activate my Double Snare magic card and destroy Jinzo!" Joey countered, revealing a magic card. Damon grunted in anger as Jinzo was obliterated.
"That doesn't mean anything! My Invader of Darkness still won't let you use Graceful Dice because it prevents the usage of all quick-play magic cards! So go my Invader of Darkness and destroy Joey's swordsman," Damon shouted in anger. Joey quickly reached for his duel disk.
"Don't be so hasty Damon! I activate Magic Arm Shield!" Joey replied, activating another of his trap cards, "With this trap card, I can take one of your monsters and use it as a shield against your attack!" Damon frowned as his Serpent Night Dragon was forced into the way of Invader's attack, destroying it and saving the swordsman.
"Got any other lame moves you wanna make?" Joey taunted. Damon's face turned beet red as his life points dropped to 3450.
"I'll take your silence as a no," Joey replied, drawing a card, "I summon Alligator's Sword (1500/1200) in attack mode and end my turn!" Damon sniffed as the reptilian swordsman appeared next to Joey's Swordsman of Landstar.
"You fool!" Damon shouted in rage, drawing a card, "I'll use the magic of my seal to summon Barrel Dragon (2600/2200) in attack mode!" Damon's newest creature resembled a two-legged tank with black armor. Two of the arms were replaced with large blue energy tubes and there was another one on its head. Each of the tubes began to glow a rainbow of colors.
"Now my dragon, attack with your plasma laser cannons!" Damon commanded.
Thanks to Barrel Dragon's GSIT special ability, it can attack three times which will devastate Joey unless he has a magic card to defend himself with! Yugi thought urgently as the dragon fired three beams.
"Not so fast! I activate...!" Joey cried out as the laser blasts hit, sending smoke everywhere. Damon laughed uproariously at Joey's plight.
"Joey!" Yugi shouted in worry.
"You OK dude?" Tristan added. As the smoke cleared, they could see Joey on one knee and one of his trap cards revealed.
"Sorry Damon," Joey grunted as he wearily hauled himself to his feet, "But thanks to my trap card, Nutrient Z, I'm safe. Its power gives me 4000 life points if I'm gonna lose more than 2000 life points in battle." Everyone watched as Joey's life points rose to 8000 before plunging back down to 2200.
"This isn't over though Wheeler! Invader of Darkness! Attack his life points directly!" Damon countered. Joey immediately looked to Serenity's facedown card.
"I activate Serenity's facedown card!" Joey shot back. Everyone watched as Serenity's facedown card was Biometrics.
"Ha! That's a Biometrics card, but you can't use it so you'll have to leave it to my next opponent!" Damon scoffed. Joey stood helplessly as he was struck down by Invader of Darkness, depleting his life points. He was caught by the Invader of Darkness and heaved into a crimson crystal.
"It looks like I'm up," Tristan noticed as he stepped into the arena.
"No Tristan! This is dangerous!" Teá pleaded. Tristan looked back.
"I'll do my best to save my buddy, count on it!" Tristan replied as he drew six cards, "Now thanks to Biometrics, I can summon a monster in equal attack power to one of your monsters but I'm going to leave the card for someone else. Now, I'll play a monster in defense mode facedown and then I'll place one magic card facedown to end my turn!" Damon raised an eyebrow at Tristan's move.
"I don't know anything about your deck strategy but it just cost you the duel," Damon declared, drawing a card, "And now I summon my Summoned Skull (2500/1200) in attack mode!" Tristan grimaced at the sight of the monster.
"Now my Summoned Skull! Attack Tristan's facedown monster with lightning strike attack!" Damon commanded. The Summoned Skull fired a lightning bolt at Tristan's monster and shattered it to pieces.
"Now I activate my facedown card, Michizure! Since you destroyed one of my monsters, I can destroy one of your monsters in return so say goodbye to Barrel Dragon!" Tristan countered. Damon watched as Barrel Dragon self-destructed in a fierce explosion.
"But you're still unprotected! Invader of Darkness! Attack his life points directly!" Damon called back. The Invader of Darkness promptly struck Tristan with an electrical shock that drained 2900 of his 4000 life points.
"It's my turn now," Tristan gasped as he drew a card, "I place two cards facedown and end my turn."
"Oh man! Tristan didn't play any monsters!" Ryan said in shock.
"Tristan could get attacked directly!" Saria added.
"Tristan!" Yugi and Teá shouted in fear as Damon drew a card. Tristan craned his head towards his friends.
"It's all up to you now," Tristan smiled as Invader of Darkness attacked him again, depleting his life points and forcing him into an orange crystal. Teá swallowed nervously and stepped into the ring, duel disk ready.
"Now, before I end my turn, I'll play Card of Sanctity to max out my hand at six cards," Damon finished, drawing cards from his deck.
OK, it's time to see if you really have the power of a Sage. Teá thought as she drew her seventh card.
"First, I'll play one monster in defense mode and then play Tribute Doll to sacrifice my monster and summon Guardian Angel Joan (2800/2000) to the field in attack mode!" Teá began, summoning an orange-haired angel garbed in elaborate white and gold robes.
"Then, I'll place one card facedown to end my turn," Teá finished, playing a card next to Tristan's two facedown cards.
"You fool! You'll never beat me with fairy monsters!" Damon boasted, drawing a card, "I'll first play a magic card known as Overwhelming Darkness. It allows me to turn all the monsters in my deck into Dark-elemental. Then I can summon Tyrant Dragon (2900/2500) in attack mode!" Damon's new dragon had a crimson body with a blood red gem engraved in its forehead.
"Now my Tyrant Dragon! Attack the girl's angel with dragon flare strike!" Damon commanded. Teá however was ready.
"Hold it! I activate my facedown card, Waboku! It stops all damage for this turn," Teá countered, five mages in robes appearing in time to block the dragon's attack. Teá then drew a card.
"Now for my turn," Teá continued, "I'll play the magic card, Cestus of Dagla!" Teá's monster gained a pair of 'D'-shaped daggers.
"These magical daggers will increase the attack points of my angel by 500 points," Teá explained.
"Yes! That makes Teá's angel stronger than any of Damon's monsters!" Ryan grinned.
"And because Damon has no hidden cards on the field, he can't stop her attack either!" Saria added.
"Now my Guardian Angel, attack Damon's Tyrant Dragon with heaven's light attack!" Teá commanded. The guardian angel began charging light magic into its hands and then shot a barrage of light beams, cutting down Tyrant Dragon and bringing Damon's life points to 3050.
"Now my angel's special ability will increase my life points equal to the attack points of the monster I destroyed," Teá noted, her life points increasing to 6900, "And thanks to my Cestus of Dagla's special ability, I gain the 400 life points you lost in battle." Damon clenched his fists in anger as Teá's life points jumped to 7300.
"Heh, very good of you to use two cards in a combo attack," Damon congratulated as he drew, "But when will you learn that there are some things you can't protect yourself against at all and I'll prove it with my Fiend's Requiem magic card!" Teá gasped, as the area grew even darker, the only light being provided by the Seal of the Demon's barrier.
"Now, I return one Dark monster to my hand and destroy all of your magic and trap cards and I'll choose to be rid of my Invader of Darkness," Damon said, pulling Invader of Darkness off the field. The duelists watched as a fierce storm of dark lightning destroyed all of Teá's cards except for Guardian Angel Joan.
"Now, I'll summon back my Invader of Darkness (2900/2500) and then I'll have it destroy your Guardian Angel Joan!" Damon continued, summoning back his evil fiend. Teá recoiled as Invader of Darkness wiped out her angel and 100 of her life points.
"Now my Summoned Skull! Attack her life points directly!" Damon finished. Yugi's eyes went wide as Teá was struck with a bolt of pure lightning, draining 2500 more of her life points.
"Then to finish my turn, I'll just place this card facedown and watch you wither away," Damon taunted, placing one last magic card on the field. Teá reached for her deck her hand quivering.
What can I do? I'll be wiped out next turn unless I can find a way to get back in this. Teá thought nervously. She looked around and saw her friends, all-waiting nervously for her to make a move.
"Come on Teá! We know you can do this!" Saria shouted.
"All of us are here for you!" Ryan added.
"And even though Joey, Serenity and Tristan are out, they are cheering for you too! So don't give up!" Yugi contributed.
"That's enough!" Damon roared, "One more word out of any of you, and you'll all go to the Shadow Realm!" That was all Teá needed to regain her focus. Teá placed her hand on her deck, poised to draw.
"Don't talk to my friends like that!" Teá cried out in anger. It was then the top card of Saria's deck began to glow. A beam fired out of Saria's duel disk and at Teá's deck. Teá drew a card and gasped. She then smirked.
"Damon! Prepare yourself to be brought to your knees!" Teá threatened, "Because I play the field magic card, Sacred Seal of Light!" As she placed the card on her duel disk, a bright flash blinded all but when the light died down, the group gasped. A golden ray of light had shined upon Teá, a soft breeze holding her just off the ground. She let the magic of the seal envelop her. It was then her life points plunged from 4700 to 0.
"This legendary seal will drain all of my life points, but it will allow Ryan, Saria and Yugi to summon their most powerful creatures of light without sacrificing," Teá explained, her strength leaving her. As she fell towards the ground, the three remaining duelists rushed into the ring. Yugi caught Teá and eased her onto the ground, away from the battle.
"The girl was a fool! The Sacred Seal of Light has drained all of her power!" Damon scoffed at the trio. Each of them drew six cards.
"Damon! It is you who is the fool!" Yugi replied, "Our friends sacrificed themselves to give us this chance and now, with both our sides only moments away from deciding the outcome of the duel, it is time we make sure their sacrifices weren't in vain." Damon laughed.
"Nothing you have can defeat me!" Damon shouted, drawing one card, "And this proves my point! I reveal my facedown card, Shadow Army Ritual!"
"Shadow Army Ritual!"
"This ritual card will be the end of humanity! By sacrificing all of my monsters in my hand, field and deck, I can summon the most destructive force on Earth!" Yugi, Saria, Ryan and Becky watched as Damon sent his cards to the graveyard as a large black hurricane appeared in the center of the field. The force of the hurricane broke the windows and split the clouds, revealing the crimson sky. The group watched as a large black demon dragon and hundreds of black-armored soldiers appeared on the field.
"Behold! My minions, the Army of Darkness (35000/35000)! But thanks to my ultimate seal, I can't attack so this will likely be your last turn. Use it, if you can!" Damon taunted.
How are we supposed to beat an army? Saria wondered.
We have to summon the Egyptian God cards, but my hand doesn't have any! Yugi thought.
This could be it unless Ryan or Saria have a plan. Yami realized. Luckily, Ryan had a plan.
"Guys! I know what we have to do," Ryan said grimly as he drew from his deck, "I use the Sacred Seal of Light to summon Kaiba's 3 Blue Eyes White Dragons (3000/2500) and then I'll fuse them together with Polymerization to create Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon (4500/3800)!" Damon smirked as Kaiba's dragons appeared on the field and fused to create the three-headed dragon. Saria then realized what she had to do.
"I too will use the Sacred Seal of Light and summon Princess of Destiny, Envoy of Wisdom (4500/4000) and Hero of Time, Envoy of Courage (3200/2700)!" Saria added, summoning her two Triforce Destiny Cards.
"And now, I'll use your Seal of the Demons in order to summon Dark Magician (2500/2100) to the field!" Yugi contributed, summoning his mage.
"Now for us to activate Hero of Time's final power!" Ryan shouted.
"I offer Saria and Ryan all of my life points to induce the Diffusion of Darkness spell!" Yugi gasped, his life points dropping to zero. But before his points hit zero, he turned to his loyal Dark Magician.
"Dark Magician! Go to the Hero of Time's side! Help him win!" Yami gasped as he collapsed next to Teá. Dark Magician quickly leapt over to the Hero of Time.
"Yugi's last sacrifice allows me to combine all of our monsters, our hearts and the souls of our friends into one unstoppable force!" Saria shouted. Becky gasped as the entire arena was caught in a mighty explosion of earth-shaking proportions. A white glow was cast over the field and Damon gasped, as the Seal of the Demons was shattered. But what really shocked Becky and Damon was the new monster on Saria and Ryan's side of the field. Floating in the air like a heavenly body was all of the teenagers, standing atop an enlarged Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon. Saria, Ashley, Serenity and Teá were dressed in royal finery, Saria in white, Ashley in orange, Serenity in purple and Teá in yellow. The guys all wore knights' armor, Tristan's being brown, Joey's in green, Yugi's in blue, and Ryan's in red. Each one was glowing and Becky watched as the Sages joined their sides in streams of multi-colored lights. Each Sage fired a beam of magical energy towards Ryan, who held the Master Sword high. The sword absorbed the energy and began to flash white.
"What the?" Damon gasped, as Ryan's blade grew longer. It was then all of the Duel Monsters in each of the teenagers' decks appeared next to them, floating in semi-transparent forms, poised for battle.
"You think your monsters are a match for mine? Go my demons! Attack!" Damon commanded. The demons rushed forward but Ryan countered by swinging his sword in a wide horizontal slash, cutting every demon down in one slash. Damon recoiled in fear at the power.
"Damon!" Yami, Yugi and Joey cried out.
"Evil incarnation of darkness!" Teá and Serenity continued.
"Be gone from this world!" Tristan and Ryan added.
"And never return!" Saria finished, raising the Sage Staff to the heavens. It was then all of the Duel Monsters, all of the Sages and all of the teenagers fired an energy blast so massive it was beyond comprehension. The group watched as Damon vanished, unable to counter. Damon's feral scream was all that remained as the light faded and the team was teleported out.
