A chemical bond is a force of attraction that brings and holds two atoms together.
You can't really understand love unless you understand chemistry. Or you can, but it's not a full comprehension. Sometimes you can substitute the word 'atoms' with the word 'people' and 'chemical bond' with 'love' and you get something comprehensible.
Love is a force of attraction that brings and holds two people together.
How true that is.
As I sit across from him, a smile on my face, he glares at me, apparently not happy about being roped into this. He's muttering something to himself and I decide that I don't really care.
I'm trying to teach Hiei chemistry.
Of course, he doesn't know what that's code for.
And I'm not telling him.
--
After about fifteen minutes of my explanations, he is thoroughly exasperated and fidgeting. He doesn't care about chemistry and doesn't deem it necessary to learn. How little he really knows.
"Hiei, will you sit still?"
"Hn. Why am I sitting through this again, fox?"
"I asked you to."
"Hn."
Sometimes he can be so stubborn. Ah well. It wouldn't be Hiei if he weren't stubborn and constantly restless.
I probably wouldn't love him as much if he weren't stubborn and constantly restless.
Though he doesn't know that.
And I'm not telling him.
I sigh and lean back in my chair before gathering up my books and take them over to my book bag.
When I look back at him, he's staring at me with a quizzical expression on his face.
"What are you doing?"
"Putting my books away." I smile. "You don't wish to learn."
"Never said that," he mumbles, looking out the window.
I blink in surprise.
He stands up, slowly for once, and just stares at me, indifferent and pondering all at the same time.
"I like listening to you talk."
And then he's gone, out the window to find a tree or something where he can sleep tonight.
I think he may have subconsciously understood what love (Did I just say that? I meant chemistry. Chemistry.) is all about. He probably doesn't know it, though.
And I'm not telling him.

Author's Space:
Ah, my first fic. Short, sweet (I hope) and to the damn point.
Am I a fan of shounen-ai?
What kind of a freaking question is that?
I came up with this in Biology class. Did you know that you have to learn basic chemistry before you learn more Bio? Did you know that my 6th grade science teacher made us learn basic physics?
Of course not.
Would you review, please?
