Medicine for Soul...
Disclaimer: I do not own anyone from the One Piece placement. I wish i did though...even as friends.
Palm tree leaves waved over-head A warm breeze washed over Nami, waking her from what she called a well-earned slumber.
Uh...dazed, the navigator sat up, trying to fully gain consciousness, It's getting dark out. I should get back before Luffy decides to set off without me.
She stood up, using the palm tree she had been resting on to keep her balance while she was still drowsy. Nami walked down the path of the island the Straw-Hat pirates had landed on, just for a rest. The female fighter saw the beach from the hill she was on. Nami smiled. She examined the ridiculous view.
The idiots are drunk.
She shook her head. Zoro and Luffy danced around, to the music of a set of pipes Usopp played, the two twirling around the fire they had lit for light. Usopp fell off the log he once sat on, cackling at the moronic jig the others seemed to be making up as they went along. Lying in a hammock nearby, Nico Robin watched the others, quietly giggling as well, the mood infectious. Sanji stood, waiting on the relaxing female hand and foot, offering an elaborate drink on a platter, specially for Robin, while Chopper jumped up and down, trying to grab the glass to quench the little reindeer's thirst. Chopper's commotion alerted the two 'dancers', and the captain and first mate tackled the cook. Robin grabbed the drink right before the chef was seized, and watched Sanji's downfall, with a smothered grin. Nami sighed...
Hahh...
She smirked at them from above, the crew not noticing her,
To think that this is the normal act of our life.
She moved to join them. The femme fatale stopped though, just before running to meet the gang. She recalled a time, before she met Luffy and tricked him, betraying him for a hope of treasure. Then, Nami knew her job as a thief, but that was all. Now the woman knew why she had actually joined the crew.
Not just for the treasure...
She thought,
Not just for the travels...
Nami looked out into the sunset, thinking so deeply, that Marine shackles wouldn't been thought about as fully.
But for the friendship. And for the caring companions.
It was true. Some words came back to Nami, words from a loved one a long time ago.
"Laughter is the best medicine, for sorrow, for depression, for lack of hope. Find you're way out in the world, Nami, and when you do, laugh at all the things that scare you. You'll find a way around your fears."
All these thoughts fled from her quickly. The girl found herself on the beach. She had traveled while she was in thought. Luffy jumped up behind her. Nami surprised, jumped as well, and then her wrists were grabbed by the rubber-pirate-captain. Luffy spun her around, then passed her on to Zoro, who also danced with her for a short while. Sanji, no surprise, ran to her rescue, then tripped over Usopp.
Nami stumbled back, and landed on the sand beside the newly moved Nico Robin. The navigator knew what she had to do, and that was enjoy the moment.
She laughed.
