AUTHORS NOTE/DISCLAIMER: Okay, so I'm sure a lot of you have heard of the Broadway play/book 'Wicked'. Actually- I'm really not. But anyway, I really suggest them. They're really good. This story has a really similar plot to the play. (I really suggest you look it up on the internet or read the book or even see the play. It's really great.) It's H/Hr, but near the end. Also, it's really starring Hermione and Cho. It's incredibly AU. There's no Voldemort! If you have any AU questions, just ask during reviews or email me. Also, all the HP stuff belongs to JK Rowling except some of the characters that I made up. Well, here's the introduction!
INTRODUCTION
"Push, honey, push!" Screamed John Granger at his wife, Jane Granger while she was giving birth.
Jane took a deep breath and realized that it was all over. One of the nurses had let out a little shriek, to her surprise.
"What?" Jane asked.
"The baby... she's... she's..." The nurse gave Jane the baby in disgust and her and John gasped.
"Hideous!" Jane finished the sentence and began to cry.
You may think that this is possibly the cruelest thing you have ever seen, but would you believe that she was not exaggerating?
This baby that was now named Hermione Granger was just unnaturally ugly. Her nose was huge. Her teeth were rather unnaturally huge, which was a surprise, because she wasn't even supposed to have teeth yet.
Her eyes were huge, and not curious and cute huge: bulging out of head huge! The little hair she had was already looking bushy.
Her legs and arms looked they had all come from different babies or something! Her arms were skinny and bony, while her legs were chubby.
But who cares, in this day in age, it's not like anyone judges people by their appearances, right?
WRONG!
Hermione Granger grew up with a family that didn't really care for her. And so, by the time she was 17, she was rather looking forward to college.
However, that would change, because she got her letter of acceptance to Hogwarts University where she hadn't even applied!
But then with some instruction, she found that her ultimate dream had come true: she was a witch. There was a reason she was ugly, and this was it.
She was almost positive that once she got to Hogwarts that everyone would look like her but she was so wrong.
Seventeen-year-old Hermione Granger had long, bushy hair and her face had hardly matured. Her lips were huge, kind of like her teeth.
Her eyes were still bulging out of head huge and her nose was still peculiarly large.
Her arms were still unnaturally skinny, but now her whole body, including her legs, was unnaturally skinny. So skinny, that it was... you guessed it... ugly.
She may have had large body parts on her face, but on her body, they were smaller if you know what I mean.
However, the new-found Witch felt very happy that she was finally going to fit in with others and not be alienated like she was in school.
Yea, right.
AUTHORS NOTE: I know, that was so mean. But for this AU to work, I had to make Hermione the ugliest creature. In the play, Elphaba (The Wicked Witch of the West) is born green, and that's just too AU for me. Next chapter: Hermione comes to Hogwarts and learns about 'unadulterated loathing'... Trust me, this chapter may not be great, but the next one will really bring Hermione to life and show why she had to be... er... ugly.
