"You kids have been through a lot these past few days. I am proud of you. All of you." Dumbledore nodded to the 7th years in his presence. Ron, Hermione, Harry, and Draco stood tall and proud. "No one as strong as you all could have defeated Voldemort. He was a vile man who deserved every ounce of pain you all inflicted on him. But we remember who we are. We are not evil. We are the good in all wizards" (Hermione cleared her throat) "-and witches." He said nodding. "Your school and I award you all for your bravery, good logic, great skill, and love and care for your friends."
The Gryffindors and Slytherin smiled as Dumbledore stood in front of them, praising them for their good deed. There was silence in the Great Hall. Students sat with faces of adoration. Many faces were glowing and smiling.
"My students," Dumbledore started again. "Congratulations!" The Great Hall burst into applause and whistling and banging hands on tables. Yells o "Good Job!" and "You did it!" filled the room. Harry, Hermione, Ron, and Draco turned to face their fellow students. Thoughts of 'We're finally done' and 'No more fighting, at last!' filled their heads as they smiled.
But one thought filled two minds.
'I wonder what Draco's thinking.'
'I wonder what Harry's thinking'
Both boys shot looks at each other. Harry smiling causing Draco to smirk. 'We've been through Hell.' Harry thought. 'We've had to struggle with our feelings, our friends, and our love. Now, for some time, we've had to struggle with Voldemort. And all in all, what I really want the most is to kiss him right now.'
'God, Harry looks sexy when he smiles. Damn him and his sexiness! I wish I wasn't here. I want to sleep next to him and not have to worry about everyone else. I want to be in bed with him right now, just to lie there and hold him, knowing that I love him.' Draco's eyes started to fill with tears. 'I almost lost him yesterday. I can't believe I left my guard down. If Weasley hadn't been there to move Harry aside, he would have...he would...he-' Draco's tears started to fall as he broke contact with Harry's eyes. The Great Hall was still buzzing with cheers as the teens stood watching them.
Hermione nudged Harry in the ribs. "Draco." Was all she said.
Harry glanced over. Draco was rubbing his eyes. 'Oh no.' He thought, 'He's crying. Oh man. I so want to hug him. It's not fair! I wish I could but everybody would-oh never mind! I'm going!' Harry took a deep breath. He looked at Hermione who nodded, then Ron, who hesitated but nodded all the same. Harry smiled.
'God, why am I crying? I'm a Malfoy. But...Harry...' Draco sniffed and looked away from the students. He didn't notice the change in people next to him until he felt a hand on his shoulder. Draco stiffened. 'Weasley? What the hell does he-' "Harry..."
"Draco, come on, this is supposed to be a happy day. It's our Graduation! Cheer up, we won!" Harry smiled.
Draco looked away. "Why are you here, touching me shoulder? Aren't you afraid of what people would think?" He snapped.
Harry frowned. He clutched Draco's shoulder harder, and swung Draco around to face him. He pulled his head up and smiled. "I don't care if people know I love you!" He said as he closed the vicinity between their mouths.
Draco's eyes went wide with surprise but he soon closed them. He grasped the hand on his shoulder and entwined his fingers with Harry's fingers.
A few shocked faces appeared as other students of knowing still cheered and clapped, and Harry smiled. He gripped Draco's hand once more and broke the kiss. He swung around and simultaneously, Draco and Harry through their caps in to the air as the owl's swooped down to catch them. The Great Hall followed suit and soon, many owls were flying around with their caps in their beaks. "Happy Graduation, Love!" Draco said in Harry's ear.
