I Let It Happen
I watched as you caused trouble at school.
I let it happen.
Because I felt no need to stop it.
I watched as they called you a traitor.
I let it happen.
Because I didn't know the truth.
I watched as you were taken away to prison.
I let it happen.
Because I thought you deserved it.
I watched you while away in pain in the house you hated.
I let it happen.
Because it was the only way to keep you safe.
I watched as you fell through the archway, and passed into death.
I let it happen.
Because there was nothing I could do.
