Chapter 7
As Yuna and Kero padded down to where the disaster was, they found a heap of three Pokemon whom were unconcious.
"Oh, it's them. Ivysaur and his goons..." Yuna shoved them into the water. "Come on, Kero. We gotta get home."
"GAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!! WATER!!!! SHIT!!!" Donphan screamed, jumping out of the water. The other two crawled out.
"Gee, Donphan, it's not that bad..." Ivysaur and Electabuzz sneered.
"Look, they're getting away!" They all turned to see Yuna and Kero running off. "Talk to the ass!" Kero yelled back at them. Yuna raised an eyebrow. You'd think he'd learn his lesson by now.
"Why I outta..." Started Donphan. He was interrupted by a Pokemon that appeared before him and his teammates' eyes. "Ah, I see you're here, Mewtwo," said Ivysaur, "Now, come and teleport us to the stadium!" Mewtwo did so and took the three Pokemon to their desired location.
A thin sheet of mist overlayed the land, smothering the light. The forest would have been silent, except for the gentle, barely audible sounds of paws, padding through the grassy terrain. Pine trees filled the area, leaving an unclear pathway. The sun was partly blocked, leaving the tree's uncovered areas much more illuminated than normal.
Yuna raised her nose in the air, sniffing. Unfortunately, The stadium was downwind and impossible to sniff out from where she was standing. Nothing but the fresh aroma of pine scent could be smelt... and a very slight but unpleasant smell. "Damn it." She mumbled. Kero sniffed the ground, with no luck either. Suddenly he breathed in a terrible yet familiar scent. "Ugh. He was definately here. Come on, Yuna, let's get out of here. I can't take this smell any longer." They quickly walked away from the shifting tang of Arcanine poop.
Yuna walked through the forest, barely tolerating Kero's whining.
"Quit walking so fast! My feet are tired! I'm thirsty! Can we pleeeeaase take a break?!"
Yuna turned her head around and gave him a menacing glare. He shut up quickly. "If looks could kill..." he mumbled quietly. The events of the previous night had scarred Yuna's attitude. Just as she began to open her mind she withdrew back into her old, 'loner' self. Kero hung his head and kept silent.
Farther away, at the stadium, soft lights illuminated a forestlike field. Upon this field were two Pokemon, an Arcanine and an Ivysaur. The booming voice coming from the speakers echoed far from Yuna and Kero. Where were they? Pyro was getting more nervous by the minute. He didn't like going to battle alone.
"OK, folks! Let's go!"
Pyro looked around, extremely nervous. What was he going to - THWACK!!! Ivysaur's vine whips landed a direct hit! "OW! What was that for? I wasn't ready yet!"
"Hey, kid, the guy said to go, so I went for it! Quit yer belly aching and fight!" Ivysaur said, a trace of impatience in his voice.
"O.K... you asked for it." Pyro used take down, running into Ivysaur. Ivysaur was too slow to get out of the way, so he turned around to dampen the blow. WHAM, Pyro knocked Ivysaur off his feet. Now he was mad. He sent out his razor leaves in all directions. Pyro quickly burned most of them but got hit with the rest, leaving a few cuts here and there. It didn't matter, though, because Pyro was pretty much resistant to any grass type.
Meanwhile, Yuna was fed up with searching and laid down in the shade of a tree. Her eyes squinted into the fog as she sat totally unmoving, only her eyes moving as she scanned the landscape.
Suddenly, Kero's voice could be heard. "Hey Yuna! I found a cave here! We can sit in here until the fog clears!"
Yuna's eyes moved to where his voice was (it was way too hard to look) as she swiftly bounded to the cave. it seemed to sope downward and was very small, a burrow, if you will. Yuna sat near a rock and curled into a ball, as did Kero. Yuna's eyes stayed open, taking in the cave's dim surroundings. She was about to close her eyes when she noticed Kero was purring asleep. She rolled her eyes and kept them open. Somehow, she couldn't worry about Pyro. She tried to knock some sense into herself and tried to think about what might happen, but it was like she had no control over her emotions!
"Now, Ivysaur, I've got a li'l pwesent for ya!" Pyro said in baby talk, infuriating Ivysaur. He didn't like getting mocked. "Take THIS!!!" Before Ivysaur could respond, he got blasted head on with a skin schorching flame thrower, burning him up a lot.
"Never mess with an Arcanine!" Pyro winked. "Now it's time to finish you off!" Before anyone could say, "Ow, that hurt", Ivysaur got surrounded with the fire spin attack!
A voice boomed in Ivysaur's Mind.
"You fool! You've been defeated!!" Said the voice. Inside Ivysaur's mind was the image of mewtwo.
"Relax! I've got it under control! I'm only PRETENDING to be fried so I can infiltrate the healing center!" Ivysaur thought to Mewtwo.
"What?! Why was I not told about this?!" Yelled mewtwo, not impressed.
"Relax! You just lend me a teensy little bit of your mind control power. I'll control them when they're unconcious, and when they're healed, We'll go for that Mew. Besides, Nurse Mew is a sissy, she'd never hurt those Pokemon! She'll have to agree. Then we'll capture her for the cloning."At this, Mewtwo calmed down slightly.
"Good, then. I will lend you some of my Power, but you better not mess this up!" Mewtwo said lending him the power. A smirk creased the facial features of the unconcious Ivysaur. Their plan was going great. Soon, two Chancies picked up Ivysaur and put him on a stretcher. They then walked off.
On an arched cliff some where in the mountains stood mewtwo. He Raised a hand in the air and rhymicaly waved his glowing hand and soon, the fog cleared, leaving a clear view of the land. An Evil smile came to Mewtwo's lips, as a circle of blue energy formed around him and soon, he was gone.
Yuna felt a paw shaking her, which she responded to with a "Come ooon momm..it's cold outside.." Yuna opened her eyes to the face of Kero, illuminated by the soft glow of the fire he had built. Awww, how sweet, he made a fire... Yuna thought. She moved away. Momentarily, Yuna opened an eye to see if he was still there. Kero was Making the puppy dog face at her. She squinted her eyes shut. Don't look at the face, don't look at the face, don't look at the face... She repeated to herself. She gave in however and decided to get up. She arched her back and streched her front paws, extending her claws. She repeated this on her back paws. Kero picked up another twig and placed it in the fire. She couldn't help but notice that his split tail was wagging slowly and silently. Yuna let out a yawn. "Hey Kero." She said. " G'morning Yuna." Responded Kero. "It's morning already? It was 5:00 AM when we got here." Yuna said. Kero shrugged. "Hey, the fog is starting to clear up. We better go find Pyro." Kero said. Yuna nodded and they left, leaving the fire on for any lost traveller indicating there was shelter nearby. They headed off into the forest, sticking together, of course.
Pyro was exhilirated. He had won! He breathed fire into the morning sky,a victory flame. He jumped around and around and yelled "Go me! Wahoo!!! WHO'S YOUR DADDY?!" Pyro displayed another firework in celebration.
Yuna tread forward, scanning the ground and sniffing around. Suddenly, Kero said something. "Yuna! look there!" Kero said. Yuna looked up to see the flame filling the sky. "Pyro." was all Yuna said as they raced to the stadium.
As Yuna and Kero rocketed to the Stadium, they could hear the shouting of Pyro and the cheering of the croud. Suddenly, Pyro became silent and ran to them, embracing them in a bear hug, like a Pincer using Vicegrip. "I won! I won I won I WON!!"
"Gaah! let go you big oaf!" Yelled Kero. "I'm gonna get all the air squeezed outta me at this rate!
"Okey." Said Pyro. "Where were you guys, you missed my victory! And how'd you get here?"
"Oh, gee, where do I start..." Kero then begun to tell the story.
"... Then we stayed the night in a cave. The fog cleared, and we could see properly enough to find the stadium!" Kero finished.
"Woo, you must've had quite a ride. I feel sorry for you guys. Well, I guess we gotta go to the stadium! Now that the team thing-a-ma-jig is finished, we can get down to buisness."
Ivysaur lay sleeping in bed. The only light was the bright gleam of the monitor screen showing his heartbeat, the only sound the hum of the electricity in the wires that lay sprawled on the floor and neatly plugged into the wall. Ivysaur's eyes cracked open ever-so-slightly and looked around at his sterile settings. He must be in the hospital. He felt better than ever. He sat up and jumped out of bed, being careful not to make a sound. "Now, how to work this power..." Ivysaur sent a beam of blue light to one of the sleeping pokemon. The Absol's eyes flew open. It shot up from the bed, eyes glowing blue. It leapt to the floor and stood beside Ivysaur. "What are your orders sir?" said the Absol in a hypnotic tone. Ivysaur smirked an evil smirk. "Wake up all the patients. And oh yeah, get me some snacks from the local vending machine." The Absol bowed to him and set off.
Absol went into the seperate room where pokemon were much more hurt. "Okay, Pokemon, wake up! We have a big mission to do!"
All the pokemon woke up drowzily. They weren't under Ivysaur's control yet.
"Wha...? Whaddaya want? Go away! We want Nurse Mew!!!" Exclaimed an angry hospital patient.
"Ah, but she's not here until later. I'm sorry, but you're getting SPECIAL treatment now." Absol was definitely possesed.
"Ooh, special treatment, do we get those beds that move up and down and proper jelly?" Asked another.
"Even better. You will honor my master!" He went to the side for all to see.
"BOO! WE WANT JELLY!" The same one said again.
"Heh, heh, heh..." Ivysaur's eyes glowed blue, holding all of them under control. "Now, my slaves, you must capture Nurse Mew! Do what I say!"
"Yes... Master..." They said, in a trance. They were suddenly healed from any wounds. Suddenly, two Pokemon came in.
"Hey, looks like we crashed your party, eh?! We saw what you did! Let them go, now!" Kero shouted.
"Ooh, I love parties. Urm... I mean, yeah, what he said! Give 'em back or we'll take them from you!" Pyro said.
"Oh, well, I don't know. What do you think, my slaves? Shall I surrender?" Ivysaur smirked, enjoying his moment of actually controlling pokemon that were worth something, unlike Donphan and Electabuzz.
"No... We'd rather stay faithful under our master... and you will do the same." They all said. They walked towards Kero and Pyro, slowly, step-by-step.
"Uh, oh... Come on, Pyro! Let's get 'em outta this trance!" Kero was way over his head this time. Yuna was asleep, tired with her last journey. They needed her help, but Kero only denied it.
"Heh, heh, heh... I don't think so." Ivysaur's eyes glowed, overwhelming Kero with its Psychic powers. Pyro, on the other hand, was way too powerful to be controlled (he's an Arcanine-that and he practically doesn't have a brain).
"Grrr... you... WILL NOT.... control me!" Kero shook off the power. Psychic against Psychic wasn't a very good idea for Ivysaur.
"Damnit... I need more power. Stupid Mewtwo... Well, then, if I can't control you full strength, I'll weaken you first! Slaves, ATTACK!" As if in no time at all, the pokemon ran into Kero and Pyro, leaving them defenceless. Shock! Crash! Bang! Pow! The Pokemon attacked the two as much as they could, leaving them as scratched, electrified, wet and pummeled Pokemon - it happened all too quickly.
"Owie..." Pyro and Kero struggled to get away, but in turn Ivysaur used his newfound Psychic powers on them, and just like that - they were under his power.
Yuna awoke with a start. She sat up fast and looked around to find Pyro and Kero gone. She leapt out of the bed and out the door of the tournament's temprary hotel rooms. Walking down the hall, she found all the doors were ajar and the participants were gone. She slid down the railing of the stairs without thinking. She shrugged and continued. She opened the door to see the hospital glowing. "WHAT THE HELL?!" She raced to the building, her strides like flying. Sending a beam at the door, she broke it down to find a Mewtwo and an Ivysaur standing before an army of Pokemon with blue glowing eyes. She turned to see Nurse Mew tied with rope. The only thing she could say before she got duct taped was "That's Mewtwo! Don't go near him!''
Yuna seemed puzzled. "Mewtwo?" The pokemon came over and picked her up by her scruff and hung her close to his face. "Remember me?"
"I...I don't remember you..."
Mewtwo send mental images of the night she and Kero were attacked. "Ah, yes.. Just to clear things up, I am Mewtwo."
Yuna's lips parted in a snarl, showing her sharp silver fangs. She kicked him in the face and made him let go. She fell and skidded to a stop, kicking up dust. When the dust cleared, a much more vicous image of yuna stood before them. Ivysaur ran away. "Hey, you fools! What are you waiting for? ATTACK!" The Pokemon army stepped forward, all getting into attack position. Yuna looked to see Pyro and Kero in the army, with nurse mew roped and locked firmly in Pyro's jaws, unharmed. "Make a move and the Mew gets a crunch attack!"
"NO!" yelled
Mewtwo."She is too valuable!" Only then did Mewtwo notice Yuna, glowing
gold as the standard yellow bands and hoops were now threads of solid
gold, glimmering brightly in the moonlight, eyes a flaming glow of
orange and red. Her silver claws dug into the ground, making spouts of
fire stream, the burning threads whipping madly at the sky. Yuna leaped
into the sky, eyes burning with rage. Mewtwo's eyes widened just before
he was picked up by her. At that moment, their eyes connected
completely. Mewtwo could see the fury in them - Yuna saw how Mewtwo was
scared to see what she'd do. Though, she could make out from screams of
fury, "How DARE you!" Yuna extended her claws and drove them through
Mewtwo's back, blood dribbling slowy from the deep cuts she made. She
was pleased with her work. With that done, she turned to Ivysaur. He
had fled into the city. "Oh, great. Stupid coward." She sighed as she
saw all the Pokemon turned to normal, confused as to why they were on
the floor, and their injuries healed. She turned around to see Mewtwo.
He mustered enough strength to talk. "How dare you do this to me... but
I shall return... someday." And with that, he teleported away,
never to be seen again... Well, maybe. Mewtwo's voice echoed in her
mind. "But I shall return... someday."
"We'll see about that." She smirked. She collapsed.
