Chapter Ten: Boy's Day Out

Last Chapter:

"Shut up and listen. SHE loves YOU Sota." Said Kagome slowly.

Sota stared at his sister with large eyes and gasped. He could see Rin latching onto him, Rin smiling at him, Rin walking with him towards the little stream, Rin planting their first kiss innocently on his cheek.

"Rin..."

"Uh huh. Get it now dumbass?" Kagome asked.

"Hey...you shouldn't talk like that to your little brother!" said Sota, walking over and hugging Kagome.

"No, I shouldn't," Kagome replied. She chuckled. "But I'll do it anyway."

"Kagome!"

"Bluh!"

"Grrrr, Kagome!"

"Catch me if you can Sota! I'll buy you anything you want from the café in town you like if you do!" Kagome called, running from the room.

"I'll get you-u-u!" Sota replied, following.

The Story Continues...

"Hey Kagome, are you awake yet?" asked Sota, knocking on his sister and Inuyasha's door.

"Go 'way Sota. She's not in here," grumbled a sleepy Inuyasha throwing the door open. It bent off its hinges as he walked out. "Oh, sorry 'bout that."

"Ah, she probably went with Mom somewhere. That would explain why she's not here either. Where's Yoh?"

"In the room. Get him will yah?" asked Inuyasha. "We need breakfast," He started downstairs and Sota narrowed his eyes.

"Inuyasha, just what are you going to make?"

"Ramen." Was the reply.

"Inuyasha! You live off ramen! Don't you ever eat anything else?" asked Sota.

"Feh."

Sota grumbled and pulled a yawning Yoh from his crib. "Your dad is one weird guy, you know that Yoh?"

The toddler just yawned again and mumbled sleepily: "Food, I want 'ood."

"We'll get you some, just come on." Said Sota, as he walked down the stairs. He went into the kitchen and pulled out a box of cereal for himself and Yoh.

"Yum! Daddy, do you want some?" asked Yoh, plopping the spoon into the bowl. Milk slopped over the edges.

"Daddy has his own stuff to eat Yoh. Now shush and eat." Said Inuyasha, sitting n a chair across from his son. Sota stared down at the bowl in his hand but his stomach couldn't hold anything down he was sure.

"What's wrong with you?" asked Inuyasha. "Normally you eat like a horse."

"I don't think I can today...I feel sick..." whined Sota.

"Ah," was all Inuyasha said.

"Ah what?" asked Sota.

"Nothing," said Inuyasha quickly as he wolfed down his ramen. "Say, since the girls have gone for a day away, why don't we do the same? Just the three of us; that sound good Yoh?"
"Yay! Play day, play day! Are you gonna play wit us Uncle Sota?" asked the toddler, staring at Sota with his mix of gold and brown eyes making it more amber.

"Sure Yoh, whatever you want." Said Sota, rubbing Yoh's hair. Yoh reached up and pushed his hand off.

"It hurts!" he whined.

That sent Inuyasha and Sota laughing and they finished eating. As men are, they took their time getting ready, Inuyasha taking a shower then Sota and they both helped the little boy have a bath. He splashed bubbles all over them and used his powers to make the bubbles come alive and not stop chasing Sota and Inuyasha until they looked like a very soapy Santa Claus. Yoh just laughed and laughed as the two had to change into dry clothes and wipe the remains of bubbles from their faces.

Once dry and very, very clean the boy's headed outside. Sota drove them since Inuyasha had no idea how and they first went to the park. Outside, they pushed Yoh on the swing as he laughed happily and yelled, "Higher, higher!"

"So..." asked Inuyasha.

"So what?" asked Sota, narrowing his eyes.

"Aren't you going to go after Rin?"

"Augh! Will you people leave me alone about that!" Sota said. "I've already decided what do to about that."

"And what would that be?" asked Inuyasha.

"I'm going through the well and if I need to pry her away from Sesshomaru with a crowbar I'll do it." Sota replied, bracing Yoh with his hand as he pushed. Just the mere thought of Rin sent shivers down his arms. He could almost taste the sweetness of her kisses, the softness of her hair.

"Sota, Sota!" said Inuyasha loudly.

WHAM.

Yoh's swing crashed into Sota and he stumbled back as Yoh and his swing rocked sideways instead of front to back. Sota rubbed his stomach and growled. "Damn," he said.

"You need to pay better attention," said Inuyasha as he proceed to push Yoh's swing again.

"Shut up." Growled Sota.

"Good luck trying to get Rin away from Sesshomaru though. He could break about oh...a lot of crowbars melded together." said Inuyasha in a matter of fact tone.

Sota had stupidly forgotten how strong Rin's father really was. How WAS he going to get Rin away from Sesshomaru? His shields were almost as good as Yoh's, and so were his power blasts but what if they didn't affect Sesshomaru? What would he do then? As he pondered the thought he sat in the swing next to Yoh and watched as the little boy enthusiastically leaped from the swing and went to join about four other children on the Merry Go Round.

Once of the other parents were pushing and the children were chanting: "Faster, faster, we need another Master! Faster, faster, we need another Master!"

The parent –a young man around 28 Sota guessed- looked exhausted. Inuyasha slinked up and looked down at the kids. "How fast do you want to go?" he asked with a sly smile.

"Really fast!" came the chorus of shouts; Sota gulped.

"Keep them on the Merry Go Round at least Inuyasha!" Sota called to his brother in law. With that same sly smile, Inuyasha gripped one of the metal bars in his hand and without taking even a running start set the small ride going so quick that some of the kids had a bit of trouble hanging on. They laughed however as they clung to the bars. Inuyasha slowed it the kids looking windblown and the parents absolutely amazed.

They stumbled off the ride, dizzy but thoroughly thrilled. Yoh now ran to the slide, not looking shaken in the least as the other kids. Sota had seen a yellow light shimmer from the Merry Go Round when Inuyasha spun it, assuming that Yoh had made a barrier to keep him self from flying off and getting dizzy. As he slid down the slide, Inuyasha caught him.

They spent about another hour or so at the park, enjoying the warmth of summer. Near lunchtime Inuyasha and Sota took Yoh to food court in the mall and watched as the five-year-old enjoyed two ketchup-covered hot dogs, not getting a single drop of the red goop on himself. Sota chuckled as he watched what Yoh did spill bounce off the small barrier and plop onto the floor and right on Inuyasha's shoes.

Inuyasha didn't notice of course until he stood up and crashed onto the floor after loosing his footing. Yoh laughed hysterically and Sota helped him up, trying to hold back laughter. Inuyasha growled at both of them but was forced to give up since he was out numbered. They walked around for a bit, looking at the shops and had Yoh drag them into the toy store to by a giant stuffed cat that looked amazingly like Kilala.

"So, what now?" asked Sota, checking his watch. "It's three and I don't think the girls are home yet otherwise they would've called."

"Guess we should head back too. Yoh will be find watching a movie but I want a nap." Said Inuyasha with a wide yawn.

"How many naps do you take Inuyasha?" asked Sota, raising his eyebrows.

"You try raising the most powerful child in my time and yours put together!" grumbled Inuyasha, catching his son by the back of his shirt as he had started to tottle off. He whined saying:

"Leggo Daddy! Bad stuff coming!"

"Bad stuff? Yoh, what are you talking about?" asked Sota, going on one knee. Yoh began to cry then his little face became very angry.

"Bad man! The one that glows like my Moo-Moo night lamp at Grandma's!" He shouted, having a few of the people around them stop to stare.

"Glows...?" repeated Sota. "Inuyasha, he means Keiichi! He's here! We have to get away from the mall!"

Inuyasha scooped up his son started to jog out of the store. Yoh pointed a little finger at the stuffed cat and it rose a few feet in the air and started to run to catch up to them. Sota yanked it down, getting zapped by Yoh's power and tucked it under his arm. Inuyasha got in the passengers seat of Sota's car, and Sota quickly started the engine. Yoh squirmed yelling:

"It's right in front of you Daddy!"

Suddenly, a burst of light came through the windshield, cracking the glass. A very deep voice was laughing oddly, and very, VERY happily. Sota growled angrily and shifted the car into reverse, and slammed on the gas. The car went speeding out of the parking lot and Inuyasha yelled at him:

"Get to the damn house! He can't hurt anyone there!"

"Right!" was Sota's reply as he took preceded to take the shortest route back to the shrine, narrowly avoiding cars as he did so. As they sped along the roads, a loud siren could be heard behind them. Sota's eyes kept flicking to the road in front of him to the light and the noise behind them.

"Yoh, you know how Mommy says not to stop objects with your powers?" asked Inuyasha, clutching his son to him. Yoh replied a muffled yes and Inuyasha continued. "I want you to stop the Glow Man okay? Think really hard about stopping him. I want you to glue him to the street like you did with Moku's staff once okay?"

Yoh looked through the back window of the car and pointed a little pudgy finger at the reflections of light coming through. Suddenly, a screech of pain could be heard and a loud explosion. Inuyasha stared at his son.

"Yoh, how far did you glue him down?" he asked.

"So that the metal snakes under the hard stuff would eat him," said Yoh proudly.

"Damn, I better hope he doesn't get the idea to overthrow me." Grumbled Inuyasha.

"Hold on! We're almost there!" exclaimed Sota as the car screeched on. They rounded a corner that led to the shrine and they parked the car and dashed inside. Inuyasha yanked Yoh off the seat and they nearly tore the front door off its hinges getting inside, finding...

...Kagome and Mrs. Hirugashi unloading a few bags of groceries while Nodaka and Hajime fought over the last cookie. Mrs. Hirugashi gazed as her dust covered son, son in law and grandson with a smiling face.

"My, my. Did you dears have a nice day?" she asked sweetly.

Inuyasha and Sota just groaned as Yoh wiggled free from his father's arms and ran into his mothers. "Mommy, Mommy! We fought the Glow Man and I made the snakes eat him!" he giggled. Kagome stared at her son then at her husband and brother.

"Inuyasha..." she said innocently.

"W-what?"

"SIT, SIT, SIT! WHAT THE HELL WHERE YOU THINKING BRINGING YOH ALONG TO CHASE AFTER KEIICHI! SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT!"

Author's Note: Go Kagome, the kick ass mommy! I really don't have anything to say accept I hope you forgive me about not updating. I have a lot of stories to work on, mainly my HP fan fiction, "The Tainting of the Rat," where there is only one chapter. I am having a hard time writing it as I have never written one before.
