Star Filled Night
By: Sensational Sista
One night, in the forest, three campers lay beside a slowly dieing fire. One was asleep, snoring peacefully. Another was staring up at the stars. He let out a sigh.
'It sure is a beautiful night,' Ash thought as he star gazed. Then he turned to his side, hoping for a little shut-eye. To his surprise, his fellow traveling partner was awake, too. The red-head sat staring at the fire. Her eyes proved she was in deep thought.
"Misty?" Ash asked quietly. She looked up with a half surprised, half welcoming face.
"Hmm?" she said quietly.
Ash sat up to see her better. He then asked, "Why are you up so late? Something on your mind?"
Misty blushed a little on the mentioning of her thoughts. When she didn't reply, Ash became curious.
"You okay?" He asked a little concerned.
"Yeah," She answered almost silently. She then turned her attention to the sky. Ash watched, as if in wonder, as the bright stars illuminated her face.
"Hey... Umm.... Ash?" Misty asked while closing her eyes. "Have you ever wished upon a star. I mean for something that you're sure will never come true for you?"
Ash was surprised. Surly he had wished thousands of times. Mostly for becoming a pokemon master. He dug down deep in his mind for what Misty was asking. Then he found it.
"Yeah, kinda...." He said while looking at the night sky. Misty then turned to face him.
"Me, too...." She said. Her voice seemed to quiver. Then it was Ash's turn to look and face her.
"Hey, Misty... I kinda-"
"Oh Ash! A shooting star!" Misty cried while pointing to the navy blue sky. The young boy turned his head and gazed up. Sure enough, he saw a white streak fly through the sky. It was quite a sight!
"Make a wish, Mist," Ash said as he inched closer to his friend. He stopped suddenly when his hand accidentally touched hers. He looked to her.
He blushed and Misty just smiled sweetly.
"I already did make my wish," She said.
Both of them soon became lost in pools of amber brown and cerulean blue. Their faces were coming closer. Each of their hearts was beating faster by the second. Ash could feel her warm breath as they were only centimeters apart. Then his lips brushed hers. A sensation of emotions flowed through him as if it were magic. A magic of a different world. It was as if the stars had granted them this time.
It was a simple kiss that lasted for merely ten seconds, but Ash and Misty didn't care. It was Ash who broke away first. Their eyes kept locked as they did so. When Misty began to blush, Ash moved his hand all the way over hers. Misty stopped her blush, and moved her hand to hold Ash's.
Then Ash began to chortle. "Could you tell me what you wished for, Misty?" He asked while moving so he was snuggled at her side.
Misty giggled as well. "Oh come on Ash! You know if I tell you, it won't come true." She stated.
"I see," Ash said mischievously. "I'll guess I'll find out in time. And will my wish, too?" He raised an eyebrow at her.
"Only if you play your cards right," Misty said while picking up what he meant. They both laughed a little. Her eyelids then became heavy. A yawn escaped her lips as she rested her head upon Ash's shoulder.
"Tired huh?" Ash asked. He got a small 'Mhmm' as an answer. "It's fine. Me too." He said as he rested his head on hers.
And as the night wore on, shooting stars danced in the skies above the couple. And two stars stood out from all the others. They had the brightest glow all around and they would have that glow forever.
The End
