Summary: K, this is a song fic to Norah Jones' song "Cold Cold Heart." Kagome and our favorite dog demon are at a karaoke bar, and Kagome picks a certain song for a certain hanyou.

Kagome shifted uneasily as she waited in line to sing.
She had tried to be nicer to Inu-Yasha, considering he was still hurt about Kikyou--but of course, the hanyou did not return the kindness.
'Feh. Stupid girl. I don't need your pity,'
Remembering what he had said, Kagome gave a little "humph" and moved up in line.
The girl suddenly felt a lurch in her stomach. She was next in line!
'I can't do this. Oh, God, I can't do this!' she thought nervously.
The person in front of her finally walked off of the stage.
Kagome sighed. Having no choice, she walked up the stairs, looked towards Inu-Yasha, and told the manager of the bar what song she wanted to sing.
She walked over to the microphone, picked it up, waited for the intro, and began to sing.
"I've tried so hard my dear to show
That you're my every dream
Yet you're afraid each thing I do
Is just some evil scheme..."
She looked at Inu-Yasha to see he was listening in intrest.
"A memory from your lonesome past
Keeps us so far apart
Why can't I free your doubtful mind

Inu-Yasha blinked. 'What does Kagome mean?' he pondered.
"Another love before my time
Made your heart sad an' blue
And so my heart is paying now
For things I didn't do..."
An expression of acceptance went across the hanyou's face. He really was bad to Kagome, and she didn't even do anything!
"In anger unkind words are said
That make the teardrops start
Why can't I free your doubtful mind
And melt your cold cold heart..."
Kagome nearly smiled at these lyrics. It was true. Even though she was too "tough" to admit it, fighting with the dog-demon really did bring tears to her eyes.
"There was a time when I believed
That you belonged to me
But now I know your heart is shackled
To a memory..."
Inu-Yasha covered his eyes with his hand. What had he done?!
"The more I learn to care for you
The more we drift apart
Why can't I free your doubtful mind
And melt your cold cold heart..."
Kagome finished the song and walked off of the stage, blushing at all the applause she was recieving.
She slowly went over to Inu-Yasha.
What shocked the girl was that he pulled her into a tight hug.
Inu-Yasha leaned into her, and breathed softly. "I love you, Kagome,"
Kagome felt her eyes widen in shock, but the shock disappeared and she hugged him back.
"I love you too, Inu-Yasha,"
