Why, our family was so perfect, so meant for each other, what happened? I know lots of people who have divorced parents but I never thought it would happen to us.
Flashback
"I now announce Mr. and Mrs. Hikari divorced!" declared the jury.
My dad knelt down.
"I know what you're thinking, Lan. But we just have to accept things the way they are. I'm going to leave you with your mother okay?"
I didn't reply. Instead, I turned my back on him.
"Well alright, if you say so."
"I didn't say anything," I muttered to myself.
Back to the Present
"Lan, its time for breakfast!" Mom called.
I woke Megaman from sleep mode and went down for breakfast. We ate in silence. Mom tried to make me feel better and said "I know how you feel Lan, but-
I exploded.
"No you don't know how I feel!" I shouted. "Do you know how it feels to have a perfectly normal life and suddenly your parents get divorced for practically no reason at all!"
"No, I don't know how it feels, but would you share that experience with me?" her voice was strangely quiet, most likely her feelings hurt. I didn't care at the moment.
"Forget it, I'm not sharing anything."
I stomped up the stairs and slammed the door. In my room, I fumed silently.
"What does she know? Humph, sharing my ass!" I muttered angrily.
"Lan maybe you were a little harsh on her-
"She's your mom too, you dummy, and those are your parents that just got divorced!" I retorted.
"Yes, well," said Megaman, obviously uncomfortable. "Sometimes I try not to think about it."
"Not think about it huh," I said to myself, "You are a disgra-
I was interrupted by a loud crash in the kitchen, and then a figure stepped into the room.
"No way..." I breathed.
"But yes way," the figured chuckled.
It was Freezeman.
