I usually write "Star Wars" stories but I need to write this. My relatives were in the Vietnam War and, thankfully, are not listed on the "Wall".
This is told in Edd's point of view.
Disclaimer: I don't own "Ed, Edd, and Eddy"
Who would've thought I would see Eddy cry. He never crys! We came here with his
mom to visit the Vietnam War Memorial, I thought it was weird that they didn't go
See the entire thing, but I let it slip my mind. They went to the panel of the 7th
Regiment who died. "Eddy, what are we doing here?", I asked. All
Eddy did was lead me to a name. When he pointed to the name, I thought nothing
of it until I read it. (author's note: I'm just going to make up a name here)
"Raymond Johansen" it said. "Your dad?" I asked him already knowing the
answer. "Sgt. Ray Johansen, Marine Corps" he said. I nodded and backed up from
the memorial. I felt a silent tear fall down the side of my cheek as I realized why my
friend was so angry all of the time. "Was he KIA or MIA?" I asked him. "My dad
was killed in battle trying to secure the LZ." he said, choking on his words. "I never
knew him. I was only a few months old when he died. Now we come here every year
on my birthday." I nodded to him. Eddy, Ed, and I backed up and one at a time, we
saluted to brave soldiers who died protecting freedom throughout the world.
This is my memorial to the soldiers who are still missing and who where killed in the
Vietnam War.
Never forget those who have died trying to protect our country.
