Spoilers: Post finale fic. The Ties That Bind.
A/N: A line from the season opener where Sandy and Seth are arguing set my brain on fire. This idea spawned from that fire. It's intentionally vague (and short) so that the reader can fill in the blanks.
Summary: "You are killing your mother and she is killing me."
He didn't know how to help her.
She was hurting and there was nothing he could do.
He'd done everything he could think of—talking to her, being supportive, waiting on her hand and foot, and trying to bring her son home...his son home.
The day they'd gotten the news, he had snapped out of denial and called everyone he knew connected to the Newport Police Department. But Seth was just gone – no paper trail, no leads, nothing.
That was six months ago.
Sighing, Sandy pushed the uncomfortable metal chair closer to his wife's bed, and brushed a stray strand of honey blonde hair off her clammy forehead.
He just wanted his son to see his mother – one last time.
