A/N: I was bored in class today. I scribble shorts on half pieces of paper so that I can take notes at the same time. My 'no frills' approach to writing. Just slightly over drabble length– but I felt that I couldn't convey what I wanted in any less words. Experimenting with all the pov's so I can get them all right as I work on a longer piece. Enjoy.
Summary: There's beauty in the breakdown.
Kirsten felt like she had lost her sense of time and space since she'd read the contents of the white envelope that had been carefully placed in the middle of her son's bed. She found herself falling – falling to her knees, though it felt more like a bottomless pit. She couldn't move – couldn't breathe. She felt like she was suffocating.
When Sandy found her, she couldn't get the words out to tell him what was wrong. She could only watch as he scooped up the note from the floor and read it slowly –letting every word sink in.
"Kirsten...baby..."
"He's gone..." she mumbled through swollen lips. Kirsten closed her eyes, willing the nightmare to end. She felt his arms wrap around her grief stricken body and they spun out time, together.
