Rewind
Prologue
Nothing has turned out as planned. Everything I've ever known, everything I've come to love has been taken away from me. The emptiness in my heart can never be fixed. I tighten my grip on the wilted flowers in my hand. My tears slowly trail down my cheek. Standing on the top of Mother's Hill I look off the cliff's peak, I know it's the right thing to do. It's my only escape.
Taking a step forward, I start to feel anxious. Any apprehension I had felt earlier quickly dissolving. Thinking back to the events that brought me here, I realize it could have all been avoided had I made the right decisions. But alas, every decision I ever made only sucked me further into the black hole. Every twist and turn responsible for bringing me here.
I always promised myself I would never let that black hole defeat me. I promised myself I'd make everything better and find happiness again. Everyone breaks a promise once in a while.
I breathe in deeply; the refreshing air fills my lungs. No longer will I be burdened by my mistakes. No longer will I be crushed when I inevitably fail everything I do. With my last breath, I lean forward and let myself fall.
Freedom at last.
I know it's still mysterious, but as the story rewinds and unravels more will be revealed. I have big plans for this one, so hopefully all will go well. I'd also appreciate reviews. Whether they're praise or constructive criticism, I'd be grateful. Thank you.
