Ok going to rewrite my story. Here goes nothing.

Just some background, I am not good at the whole age difference in elves thing so don't kill me. This will be Mirkwood when it was beautiful but some evil creatures are lurking in the darkness. As for ages and characters:

Legolas: explanatory, 30 (13 in human standards of maturity), youngest prince.

Thranduil: king, however old he is in books.

Mother: since there isn't anything written about her she won't be really thought about here, and don't think she dies after giving birth to Legolas! I hate it when people think that way.

Hiertel: middle son. About 150 years old and caption of border patrol.

Mernigin: oldest son, crown prince

Everything else goes along with the books.

Ok, on with the story!

Mirkwood: 3300 2nd age.

It was the middle of autumn in the forest of Mirkwood. The days were chilly and the forest floor was covered in brightly colored falling leaves. All of the woodelves were spending this day at home with a hot drink and a good story by the fireplace. But for one, this was too beautiful of a day to be inside with their family whose idea of fun was to study in the library. Legolas, the youngest prince of Mirkwood, was lying on his bed with his beloved sidekick Sam, his pet poodle. The young elfling was gazing into space when a knock came from the door.

"Come in", Legolas answered.

Thranduil, his father, walked into the room and took a gaze at the amusing site placed before him, a smile playing on his lips. The room was in total disarray. Silk clothes were thrown about the room, mixed in with various books and dirt. The walk in closet had the rest of the clothing and various other things stuffed inside to full capacity. The desk was covered with drawings and paper swans. He decided not to even glance into the bathroom. The king let out a sigh and looked at his son and Sam, who were sprawled out on the bed, covered in blankets.

"Bored already?" Thranduil said.

This brought Legolas out of his dream world and realized that his father was in his room.

"No, I was just about to busy myself with cleaning" replied Legolas.

"O, I see, and when were you going to start, before or after Yule?"

"After"

"Well, I guess we can arrange your meals to be brought up here so you won't go hungry until then."

Before Legolas could reply Thranduil took Sam to be fed and left the room.

Legolas, in no mood to clean, went back into his dream world, hoping his father would be awhile, knowing he would come back with a creative punishment if Legolas' room wasn't immaculate. Or I could just sneak out, after I will pick up, thought Legolas.

There, please review and tell me if this ones better, yes I have a poodle named Sam, just wanted to sneak him in. Tell me if I messed up the time.
