A/N, am sick, and my imagination has run wild from watch TSOM. Please review...flames can cook my breakfast and constructive criticism can make my stories better. This is slightly different from the movie, and very short.

Disclaimer: If I owned it, the movie "would get all the fame, and I'd get all the money. Terribly unfair, I know, but someday...I'll have the fame too." Nope, do not own.

As Captain Georg von Trapp patted his youngest son on the back, he reached his hand out to Maria, the children's governess.

As they danced the Laendlar, the Captain held Maria perhaps a little closer than necessary. As they reached the part which required their faces to be inches apart, he found himself lost in her light blue eyes.

Maria felt safe in his arms, and found it impossible to look anywhere but his deep blue eyes.

The Captain slowly tilted his head and slowly, ever so slowly, kissed her gently on the lips, much against his judgement, just as she kissed him. Gasps of shock escaped from the children's mouths, and they broke apart. (A/N evil grin I've always wondered what would have happened if they had done that)

Maria was crimson, and the Captain noted how it complimented her colour.

"I think it's time for the children to go to bed," he said, hurriedly and huskily.

Maria nodded, and finally broke eye contact.

She rushed the children out of the room.

Despite being asked to be Max's dinner partner, she packed and left, leaving only a note behind.

The Captain, meanwhile, had tried (and failed) to convince the Baroness that he didn't mean to...and she had looked like Agathe.

After Elsa had talked to Maria, she seemed satisfied, and pretended to believe him.

"Maria, what happened?" asked the Reverend Mother.

"I, I felt so confused, I had to leave...and I knew I'd be safe here," she said.

"Safe from what?" asked the Reverend Mother.

"Him," she muttered.

"Him?" said the Reverend Mother in surprise.

"Thank you Sister Margaretta," said the Reverend Mother, and the good Sister left quickly.

"What happened Maria?" asked the Reverend Mother gently.

"Kurt wanted to know how to dance the Laendler, and I tried to teach him but he was too short and then the Captain came and he danced the Laendlar with me and then we kissed," said Maria, words tumbling out.

"Kurt?" asked the Reverend Mother.

"The youngest von Trapp boy," said Maria.

"Maria, did you kiss him or did he kiss you, and do you love him?" asked the Reverend Mother.

"I don't know! I don't know, I've never, I've never been around someone like that," said Maria desperately.

The Reverend Mother persuaded her to return. (And the movie goes on like before)
